After quite some time some new guy found some glitches which I hopefully fixed:
-Karting track: Groove layer was not transparent
-Hahn village entry found a hole in the road
-Globemaster plane had a invisible wall so you could not enter allthough it looked accessible. Now it is.

Added a MIG21 FISHBED-H to the "Fighter Museum".
The romanian MIG21s will be the last in active duty after 60 years ending in 2023.
She was the strongest opponent to the western jets and I thought she deserved to be remembered.

Track layouts are as follows:

As the "famous" airshow is quite a load for the computer - I left the feature for the "traffic layout" where you can free roam and a short stutter will not break your race.
The original "trackday race" has also the airshow - for the pumped up PC-users.
The rest is just clean for racing action - still enough vertex count.

Just a quick update to the KARTING track by adding a dirt surface with "gravel" characteristic.
So these two additional layouts are now available:

I had found there is an old "Karting track" behind the "plastic recycling plant". It´s hardly visible anymore as google maps had updated their satellite images some time ago.

Luckily I had an older version on my hard disk and tried to "rescue" this old jewel.
But to my taste "real" karting tracks are much too narrow - I´m going more for a "Rally Cross" track and made it 15m wide - as much as possible without overlapping

When my colleague Kulich gave it a try he found that the country road around the whole airfield would give a nice racing track - so I added this one too.

For all the guys who find that all this flying circus of the airshow is too much over the top (it really can get annoying after some time) - for all thes guys (which includes myself) I have put in the layouts in addition WITHOUT AIRSHOW - for a pure driving fun.

As I love to reminisce a little from time to time - I found an old sheet with photographs when I visited the old airbase back in 1962 at the age of 8 years.

There was a suggestion from "Tominator21" - if I would like to turn the Airbase-Racetrack into a free to roam space for drifting and cruising around.
Great idea!
I converted the "dead end" roads into connection roads so there is always a way back to the airfield.

I have added some new visual stuff and a lot of various spaces to drift around and to explore.

Seems that the "Hahn Airbase" is turned to be some playground for me to check new stuff.
But it is not over yet!!!;)

The layout contains some "basic traffic" settings created by "2real" who runs some online traffic servers.

Before you start, you need to activate the "point and click objects inspector" fro "GUI" settings in the newest Content Manager.

Next you need to download a "Data" file which you unpack in the AC main folder. See a short tutorial here:


To activate the mod, you select the "traffic" layout - which is a free to roam space - in "Practice" mode or "Trackday" seems to work also.

When in the car, you click as follows to activate the "Traffic Planner Tool"

Of course you can run the track as allways for racing with your friends - using the "race" layout.

For online racing:
Better prepare an extra CSP-settings file without the "objects inspector", as I had some crashes until I deselected it. (maybe that is only me, but you never know)

I changed the flight levels of the jet fighter group so they are not flying in the smoke of the front row.

Because this track has a real beauty driving in the night with all the lights around - the planes were not visible!!!
So I added some lighting to iluminate the smoke and the planes a little.

I hope it´s not too expensive on the FPS - for me (in VR with a RTX2070and a Valve Index) it kept a stable 90 fps.

Further I was not happy with the Container Trolley train I made a new tractor from phantasy and added a second exhaust pipe for more smoke.

This train is meant to hide your sight, so to give you a little obstacle when you go through the faster "Kulich Avenue", instead of the original path .

Ahh! I added a second Bi-Plane so it´s more fun.

We did a little race recently, and thought about how much fun it is to do such an illegal stuff:
Racing around an airport!
But it might be even more fun if there were no police officers to stop you, but instead telling you to "go for it!" :D.

So, anniversary of the old US-Airbase might be a good reason for a
!! TRACKDAY !!
(the actual airport is in bancruptcy anyhow).

In VR it is all a little expensive on the FPS though, but you may unload the parts that are too costly.

At our race we discovered some nice alternative ways along the airfield - in between the cargo trolleys.
I call them "Kulich Avenue" and "The Kulich Enigma" to honor the bold discoverer!
But be warned: A luggage trolley train might cross your path and spit some smoke in your eyes!

Sadly the sound attached to the airplanes does not work for "driver views" - only TV-cam and Free-cam give you the sound, but without the attenuation that I set within FMOD-Studio - so it´s all over the field allmost :O_o:
Seems like a little bug in our otherwise so fabulous CSP.

One other thing I encountered:
The "Time Attack" mode didn´t work and the game crashed, but as I never tried this mode before, I didn´t care too much.

I hope you have as much fun with the track as we had here in our VAC-Club!
But if you have any trouble with the track: Please give me a hint!

Last time I forgot to attach the whole track - was only the extension file.

On my last session I had real bad FPS breaks, down to 30FPS while heading towards the runway approach-lights other places were not as bad but still not OK.
So I tried some changes in the extension_config with reduced visibility range of lights and it is much better now - it kept mostly 90FPS and didn´t go below 80FPS with 32 cars.
It is much less impressive though :unsure:
If you encounter problems with your GPU-power maybe you extract the revised "extension.zip" into the track folder.
The old config.ini is still available then.
