This mod changes the settings of how punctures and failures work. Changes listed below

Failures

Missing gear failure can now last for only a few mins or the rest of the race. Before the max time it would last was just a few mins. The min time has also been decreased from original value. In theory you could have multiple gears missing resulting in forced retirement.(not confirmed)


DRS "stuck closed" can now last for only few mins or rest of the race. Before the max time it would last was around 15 mins. The min time has been decreased from original

Also included with v5.2 is a new experimental version with gearbox issues that can occur at any time in the life of the gearbox. Jammed gears and missing gears causing short temporary problems or it could end your race. This is an experimental version as I cant test the probability of it occurring. I have aimed for couple of times a season but its impossible for me to do endless testing to prove this. Please use this at your own risk but feedback of how many times you get gearbox problems would be great. Then we can adjust the probability to the right level


Punctures from Debris

The speed that punctures can occur have now been opened up to any speed. Before there was a tight speed window that a puncture from debris would only occur in.

Time from puncture to actual blow out has been increased to allow for "slow puncture" situations. They can now occur in a fraction of a second or a few mins afterwards.

Rework of grip for when punctures and blow outs occur. Should be much more realistic now


Wear Blow outs

The wear rate level that blow out can occur once reached has been increased to allow tyres to be pushed a little further.


Brakes

Brakes will wear over the course of the race. It can be monitored on the MFD.
If pushed too far they will fail completely with forced retirement.


Engine heating system changed.

Overheating caused by following cars, more cooling from clean air.
Allows running in higher engine modes without overheating issues but temperatures will slowly increase on longer runs.
Qualifying fuel mixes cause engine to overheat quickly.

Small changes in fuel burn rates for Rich and Max fuels.



To install copy the teams folder to

F1 2020\2020_asset_groups\f1_2020_vehicle_package\

replace the current teams folder with the one in the zip and replace all files when prompted.

Backup the current teams folder so you can return to the standard game

This will not work online!

It will remove any other mods that make changes to the data in teams folder. The mod is made with default files.

In v5.2 there are 2 version in the zip. Please choose the version you wish to install and extract as before. You dont need to install both versions. Just the one you wish to use.

yes player only. the ai do suffer from problems but this is controlled elsewhere. This mod means the player can suffer from same problems
Is it possible to make with modular mods?
Great mod so far! Would absolutely love if you merged this mod with "Improved dirty air for more battles" mod.

Best mod I have ever seen mate! Fantastic Job! In addition to all of these failures, I always dreamed of having an engine failure all of a sudden in a race. Is there a possibility of having engine failures without having any wear in engine components? For exapmle during a Grand Prix Mode. ( with real drivers not CAREER Mod). Thanks!

No sudden engine failure isn't possible . All that is possible is increase of wear rates

There are far too many mods for me to make combinations. I have put the values on discussion page for you to add this mod to what ever mods you are currently using
And you can just pull out the vtf file and insert it manually so that the mod does not fly off?

It doesn't work for me, every time i load up the game it freezes my all of my apps and i have to restart my pc.

Check the files extracted from the zip ok and copied over the original team folder. You need to overwrite the original files

no just player, the ai have another failures system in place
But I have to replace either folder of AI and TEAMS

The install must be wrong. Copy the extracted zip to replace the team folder. Overwrite all files when prompted

Yes but as they use the same files you'll need to enter the values on the discussion page manually to merge them
