I will upload an larger update with alot of changes and new parts.

(smaller turbocharger)

and also a fix for the problem people are having with the newest version

I'm planning to be done at EDIT 21:00 EDIT
To the people where after an update the mod doesn't work. This might be cause by my nos installed detection (can't confirm directly as in my game it doesn't throw errors) no matter if nos is installed or not.

Might be updated today.
1. DELETE the file: My Summer Car\Mods\References\modapi_v0130-alpha.dll
this is a modified version of the Supercharger mod and will break every mod using the ORIGINAL version v120.

THERE IS NO PUBLIC VERSION OF THE v130!!!!

2. Try deleting all SaveFiles from my mod:
Mods\Config\Mod Settings\SatsumaTurboCharger/

Alot of people said it's not working for them and thanks to 2 people sending me their output_log.txt i may have found the error but I'm unsure .

Install this update and i recommend deleting every savefile inside
Steam\steamapps\common\My Summer Car\Mods\Config\Mod Settings\SatsumaTurboCharger

Changelog v1.5.4:
  • Added position reset button which will reset position of all not installed parts to their default location (behind the house)
  • Hopefully fixed error from comming up alot of people reported but can't be sure as only one person send me their output_log.txt file

Here is the update i mentioned.

Text of Parts when not installed are now correctly shown.
The Throttle key can now be any button
-> before you had to have it set to "W" or else the boostgauge text would not change and the blowoff sound would not play

known bugs:
"Use" key still has to be "F" or else painting the hood won't work.
-> it """""works""""" but you have to take the bottle in hand two times for every spray so I temporarily changed this back to the default one.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another Tease :D

ECU mod Basics are now finished.
Added a panel on which you can/have to press buttons to enable each functions
Functions added for now: ABS, ESP, TCS

ECUs will be mounted below the passenger seat on a wooden board and the panel with 4 buttons and 4 lights (1 button currently unlabeled and doing nothing)

Controll Panel is mounted on the right side of the hood release and buttons are used by pressing "Use" key (can be changed to anything)

Lights indicate connected/disconnected ECU and enabled/disabled ECU

I'd like to add ModShop (so you have to buy the ECU parts first before releasing but if you want I can publish it earlier without ModShop.

I just found several bugs thanks to starting a new Mod which I otherwise would probably not have found.

One of them was the earlier already mentioned Bug that the text of Parts displayed in the bottom/center was cut off when part was not installed.

This will be fixed in a later today coming bugfix

Fixed the boost gauge spawning below the map
gauge will now spawn more to the site (left from the boost tube)

Small teaser:
I started working on another mod:
which will ad "ECU"s to the game which will add ABS, ESP and TCS with three seperate models (I might even try adding AWD using a rod going to the back and connecting the other wheels but im unsure if that's possible

I might also rename the mod to something like DonnerTech Turbocharger -> "DonnerTech" as the manufacturing company of Satsuma Tuning parts ^.^
which will then also "sell" the ecu parts ^.^
Screenshot_1.png
Just notized a bug:

when starting a new game the boost gauge can't be found as some people stated.

I will fix that later today.
There is also a weird error message at the start, but that won't disable the mod so no danger there!
Here you have another version.
I fixed alot of problems and bug:

MOD WON'T WORK WITH PIRATED VERSION OF THE GAME!!!!

ToDo: (? = unsure)
  • Draw power grapth/turbo grapth ?
  • antilag
  • add ModsShop
  • make changing turbocharger boost
  • Better calculation of turbocharger boost
  • hole in hood for intercooler
  • try and make parts stronger -> can detect when damage happens
  • check for race carb installed
  • check for air fuel mixture and decrease/increase boost
  • prevent inspection with turbo installed
  • add blowoff valve as model which then can be configured using mouse wheel
  • change parent object (manifold should be mounted on racing carburator) and other
  • ABS, ESP, TCS AWD -> maybe as external mod with their own models
  • make n2o usable

Changelog v1.5:
  • Changed Turbocharger boost calculation
  • fixed engine overrev at ~7k rpm (depending of gear) (higher gear = earlier)
  • reduced boost created and displayed
  • changed gear ratios again
  • increased max clutchTorque (thanks to @EdgarsLS as his "plugin" gave me a hint on where to fix that)
  • can detect n2o bottle active and get psi amount but powerMultiplier get's locked
  • changed old blowoff sound to make it go more SuuuuTUTUTUTUtututu
  • boost gauge now only shows text when electricity works and is on
  • boost drops to -0.86 (0.86 atmoshere) when the blowoff enables
  • changed the display of values to DEBUG as there are usually not needed
  • changed text for km/h in debug gui to display actual speed currently driving (so it displays above 250kmh
  • reduced volume of blowoff shot from 0.3 to 0.25 as it's louder than the old one
  • increased spawn height of gauge as some people had problems finding them (maybe they fell through floor)
  • limited boost to 1.65bar
  • boost will now slightly decrease at higher rpm (not really noticable
  • "default" boost when not accelerating to the point of turbo engage (3000rpm) is now -0.92 = 0.92 powerMultiplier
  • removed setting of final gear as i notized it wasn't actually changed
  • fixed multiple blowoff sounds from playing when downshifing multiple times
  • removed blowoff sound when down/up shifting for now as the sound is somewhat bugged

Known bugs
  • removed blowoff sound when down/up shifting for now as the sound is somewhat bugged and got removed for now

Quick notice:
I've noticed a serious bug in the mod. When accelerating past 7k rpm (depending on gear) the revs suddenly jump into the revlimiter (which also sometimes destroys the engine)

I have found a reason for that and will be updating the mod sometime today including new turbocharger calculation

I have also added some new notes to my ToDo:
- check if racing carb is installed and if not prevent installation
- prevent inspection from passing (as it's a freaking turbo) -> notized that as i saw a screenshot on steam where the car was in inspection
(not sure if this is preventable)

Today is update day again.
NOTE: Mod does not work with pirated copy of game. BUY THE GAME!
  • boost gauge will now display nothing if not installed
  • boost will not be generated in Neutral gear to prevent engine blowup
  • fixed Turbocharger intercooler manifold tube beeing see throuth
  • Turbocharger Hood can now be painted (let me know if you find errors with it)
  • added material design to all parts: now the look sexy :)
-> for this to work your "Use" Key has to be set to "F"
  • hood color is saved inside Mod Settings folder in .xml
  • redone Steam check -> now a message dialog is also displayed IN THE CENTER
  • changed Intercooler manifold model slightly
Mod is tested on experimental

Known bugs:
currently none

Current ToDo:
- Antilag ?
- changeable turbo boost
- backfire flames
- ModsShop
- better calculation of turbocharger boost
- displaying of turbocharger/engine values using grapth?
- hole in hood for intercooler
-try and make parts stronger (I can currently only detect when what happens -> like piston falls out)

If you have any suggestions let me know.

btw. the source is currently ~ 920 lines long (including empty lines)
-> Code cleaning is booooring ^^

  • changed part locations slightly for parts that were not alligned perfectly

  1. As I forgot to write about the Part install locations... here they are:
(names as in the game when hovering over with mouse)
  2. Turbocharger Manifold: behind the racing carburetor
  3. Turbocharger Exhaust Inlet Tube: near the headers (left from Manifold in corner)
  4. Turbocharger Exhaust Outlet Tube: near the headers (infront of Inlet Tube)
  5. Turbocharger: connected to inlet Tube and outlet tube
  6. Turbocharger Boost Tube: connected to turbo on the bottom
  7. Turbocharger Intercooler: connected to Boost tube (above Motor cover)
  8. Turbocharger Intercooler-Manifold Tube: connected to Intercooler and Manifold on the right
  9. Turbocharger Hood: where normal hood goes.
  10. Turbocharger Boost Gauge: inside car next to the air/fuel gauge

Game is also tested on experimental and works without a problem

Known bug:
Looks like that some parts don't display there name correctly when not installed

Current TODO/Planned:
Antilag ?
Backfire from exhaust ?
changeable Turbocharger boost
paintable hood
better parts texture
*Edit: might add ModsShop so you have to buy the parts

If you have more ideas let me know.

- added 5th/6th gear without another mod
- modapi_v120 has to be inside Mods/References/
--> without having any other version of modapi !!IMPORTANT!!
- metadata added: MSC Modloader will now notify you when there is a new verision
- also added icon to metadata as well as racingdepartment.com link
- added AWD (All Wheel Drive) which can be enabled/disabled in Mod Settings
--> has to be enabled/disabled BEFORE first entering/starting up car (best to do before loading game).
--> after that for it to change you have to quit the game -> can't do anything about this, it is how the game works

TODO:
- add more grip - not possible can't find how to adjust it (keeps resetting)
- add possibility to adjust turbocharger boost
- Look into adding ABS
- IN FUTURE PEOPLE WITHOUT GAME BOUGHT ON STEAM WON'T BE ABLE TO USE MOD!!

If you have other ideas let me know :)
fix modapi_v120 in References missing
