Very nice! Finally a filter that looks really good on my monitor and doesn't outshine the lights. Thank you!

Your welcome Vanisch. Glad to hear it translates well across all PCs and Monitors alike. That is what I was aiming for.

If you want to join my discord, there is a community media channel where you can post any screenshots or images or videos you get.

I have no idea what you said but I love you and thank you for the 5 stars. Glad you like it :)

Superb. I set exposure to between 45% and 60% depending on track. See discussion.

Excellent bro. Well done
i'll give 5/5 but the sky is all washed gray when I use this filter. And it seems to be this filter because when I use another one the sky gets back to normal.
iG_ADVM
iG_ADVM
That is interesting. Is it all the time? Even with clear blue sky?

Sounds like the Sol Config file is not working correctly as that is what gives the sky its colour. Try resetting to default, the sol config when you are in game. Then make sure my lua file is in "....ppfilter/solcustomconfigs" folder.
Great filter. You can read my post in the discussion thread to get my feelings on it.
The version 1.2 was practically perfect, the best filter ever, but unfortunately the latest version is too bright and practically unusable for me
iG_ADVM
iG_ADVM
yep no problem, it is a test build. 1.2 is the main build currently. 1.3 is basically a separate mod reworked in a different way
Thanks for ur replying at my comment. And there is one more question :^
What Sol version is required?
iG_ADVM
iG_ADVM
I have made it so far on 1.6. I have not yet checked 1.6.1. Feel free if you would like to. I will get round to it in the next few days. Hopefully it will just work like normal as it is technically a simple mod

I tried you latest version, for me it's much to dark overall. I have gone back version 1.2 which is great. Have you made an error in the settings some where. Thanks for the kind words in your reply for my first review.

I'll check in the morning. This update is different. You install it through content manager so I am guessing you haven't deleted the original 1.2 ppfilter file in assettocorsa/system/cfg/ppfilters and then the file with the same name in ppfilters/solcustomconfig. If you haven't removed 1.2 before installing 1.3 then it's probably reading the wrong .Lua file.

For now feel free to carry on using 1.2 as this is technically a new mod. Let me know if you get 1.3 working properly by trying what I have suggested.

Thanks again walker
Top Job mate 5+. To me not only the best but the only realistic ppfilter to date.

I had no performance problem but just tried 3/4 races (RTX2060S and none of the video options maxed out).

What makes it realistic for me is foremost the lack of "haze" (think about clarity in Lightroom) compared to other ppFilters. And I've tried them all but was always worried by more or less lack of clarity. Now I can take down saturation and adjust gamma (among other params) without sacrifying immersion.

At the end of the day it's a matter of taste but anyway that was it for me.

Thats great to hear Psycho and I know exactly what you are referring to.

There are many settings like "sky density" "sky haze" "sky smog" "distance haze" etc that all on top of each other create a very thick viewing which you would immediately look to lowering gamma and raising contrast to solve. Problem is that will only lose the balance of the colour and lighting. So I lowered each of the settings to a realistic point. I think they are useful settings for athmosphere and covering up distant textures and imperfections, but like you say, for a 1:1 representation of what we see in the real world, things are never that hazey.

As far as performance goes, thank you for the positive feed back. The great thing about getting colour and lighting correct is you can play on low settings and it will look much the same. My mod does not alter any of your video, graphical settings. So that is why you dont see a performance hit AND you should actually see a performance gain compared to the other top graphical mods you can get for assetto corsa.

Maybe soon, I will be at the top :D
Another great candidate in the 1:1 in graphics and performance filter category. Love the sense of breeze and/or heat it gives me depending on the weather I'm in. It's just that believable.

I'm still going to try the display calibration you recommended but as of now, this is one heck of a realistic filter.

Great to here cal. Really appreciate it.

And if it looks good already, dont stress over the calibration. I only put it there for people who come to the conclusion that their use of the mod does not get the same results as they see from my images.

The best AC has ever looked for me. I've tried a lot of the pp filters available this is definitely the best so far. My monitor has an IPS panel and is 100% sRGB and calibrated for photo editing, mainly landscape photos so I've a good idea what looks right. Thank you.

:O ....... I am honestly speechless. Its great to have a response from some one who has a good fundamental basis for judging this sort of media, so to have impressed you, that is all I could have hoped for.

If you have read through the reviews so far, you will see the endless positivity and just when I thought it couldn't get any better, you say this :)

that is great to know. Because outside of making reshades, I have not done photography, videography etc I just calibrate my monitor to the best I can and then make mods to what I personally think is realistic. Realistic is so subjective. And colour representation is too. So I am very thankful for you and everyones overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Good but I am confused, If I download this will change some graphics setting? Because u say it will overwrite something. And when I use other filter, will the game looks like before installed ur mod?
iG_ADVM
iG_ADVM
Good question Hito,

As of yesterdays update, it does not over write anything, so that is my fault for not removing that information.

It also does not change any of your video settings. It only has 2 presets, 1 for Sol settings, and one for PPFilter. This means it will not affect any other filters or mods you use.

Any more help you need, just ask

Kind regards
Adam
Excellent job! 5+

Thank you Shark. Appreciate it
At first look this is great. I'll leave a proper review later when I've had some time with the filter. Could you please tell me what the VW fire van is? Is it part of the track objects or is it a car mod?? If so please please tell me where I can get it. I've been looking for a VW camper for ages. I have the old 'splitty'. Thanks!
iG_ADVM
iG_ADVM
The VW camper van, next to the 4x4 Porsche is just an asset on a map which I cant remember the name of. But it is not driveable, sorry to break your heart :D
Just as I was searching for a different filter this came up, how lucky am I ! This is probably the best i've ever used, excellent job mate!!!

Wow, thank you Matt. I keep reading through these reviews and they are ridiculously positive which I did not expect to see already.

Glad you are enjoying it mate
Wow, this is pretty damn nice - more or less what I've been trying to accomplish for myself for ages. My only problem is I'm finding foliage has a little too much pop - the awful kunos trees are pretty eyecatching and grass ( I think possibly it's GrassFX grass, actually so that bit might be a CSP issue with me ) is coming out slightly oversaturated on my system. Do you generally run with depth of field on?

It's a bit hard to show what I mean with the trees because of how subjective it is and how it's a lot to do with motion, but here's a random screenshot just to show I've not done something daft with setup - https://www.dropbox.com/s/ydkffvafyuic061/Screenshot_lola_t70_rf2_ford_ks_nordschleife_27-6-120-1-29-29.jpg?dl=0 .

Really really nice job in general!

Hey richard,

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad you are enjoying the mod.

I agree, the trees in the game are very basic and it is hard to make them look good. When I view your picture, to me it looks perfect. The balance between the blue sky and green colour of the grass, trees and other foliage is, to me, just what I accomplished. But that is on my monitor, with my calibration settings which will differ with everyone's setups.

So what I think the issue might be is your monitor has a bit too much contrast or green tint in the RGB values. What I would recommend is you do a screen/monitor calibration to make sure what your screen is showing you is as close to what I made it. Click the link below and it takes about 5 minutes to follow the guide but after ward your monitor will be set up to accurately display what you are looking at.

:'( dont make cry bro. Really appreciate that mate. Thank you very much.

If you wouldnt mind giving me some verbal feedback that would be much appreciated.

1. What is the performance like compared to no filter and compared to other popular filters
2. What has made it realistic in your eyes compared to other filters?

Kind Regards
Adam
REALLY nice. I would say spectacular. Even better. Really sensible, thanks!!!
