It’s nearly the end of the month, and that means it is time for the Playground Games development team to announce the next update for the popular open-world driving game Forza Horizon 5.
As is the recent trend, this is split into two main buckets: free and paid-for DLC, the latter of which seems to have become a key strategy for the title, starting in 2023.
Each monthly festival playlist within Forza Horizon 5 has a theme, and this time it is ‘Race Off’. This boils down to two tribes: Asphalt Racers and Off Road Racers.
In what is labelled as a community event, taking part in set challenges will see you cumulatively earn points for either side. At the end of the month, one team will be victorious based on player’s habits.
This is where two new cars can be unlocked. Each side has an overall points goal, and presumably, each target is pegged at a realistic level to make acquiring both cars relatively straightforward.
To check on current progress, players can visit a new festival outpost, which will move location each week across the four weeks of the Race Off competition.
There are also two new Race Off-themed outfits, because, yay for outfits.
Finally, 18 new Race Off-themed EventLab props will become available for use in custom routes.
As ever, there will be a new playlist, four across the month, changing each week with a new set of challenges and new cars to unlock.
Successfully earn enough points, and the following new-to-Forza Horizon 5 cars could be yours:
Alongside the new challenges and potential free cars (earned by completing objectives), there is yet another new paid-for car pack.
This optional downloadable content pack follows the likes of February’s European Automotive Pack and January’s Chinese Luck Stars set - that means four new cars that cannot be earned in the game, retailing for £3.99/$4.99/€4.99.
It will include:
