Le Mans Ultimate’s Next Update Slated For June, Imola Scan Completed

Le Mans Ultimate’s Next Update Slated For June, Imola Scan Completed.jpg
Work continues on the early access Le Mans Ultimate. There won’t be a major update in May, with June as the target.

Following April’s ‘Patch 3’ for Le Mans Ultimate, the next major additions are set for June completion.

Affirmation of the timeline comes from, initially, Motorsport Games’s CEO when he talked to OverTake recently, followed by updates from development team members in the Le Mans Ultimate Discord.

“Regarding [a] roadmap, I think it’s clear we can’t yet commit to certain dates, but we are working on an update for June (I feel that much is out of the bag now) - it won’t have everything you want, but it’ll be a big first step,” posted Ben Rossiter-Turner, VP of Competition at Motorsport Games.

When asked if online driver swaps will arrive then, however, the answer is a bit more complex.

“I will specifically say that isn’t happening for June,” continued Rossiter-Turner.

“It’s very complicated and intertwined with other work so that we have a better solution than rFactor 2.”

Further clarification was provided that while there may not be a ‘major’ update in May is expected, hotfixes may still be issued between now and next month.

2024 Imola Scan Concluded

2024 FIA World Endurance Series content was confirmed as being in development before the simulation’s February early access launch. It now seems that it has taken a step forward with a new scan of the Imola circuit being concluded.

“There was a 2024 Imola scan done weeks before the race,” confirmed Dan Wrenn, Marketing and Content Producer at Motorsport Games.

Le Mans Ultimate is currently on a tour of European WEC rounds, recently visiting the Imola round between 19th-21st April. Now it transpires the venue was scanned on the run-up to the event.

Still the best developer based Hypercars on the market...

Others that have gone with F1 style p2p hybrid for their LMDh cars show just how little they car about sportscars...

If I'm reading through the tea leaves correctly the lack of driver swaps may mean a lack of dedicated servers in this "Big June patch"... So I'm thinking it'll be VR official support...

This title is just a few features away...

On Imola, that track is certainly not made for fast cars and multiclass... The draft effect just isn't big enough in real life along with other tracks that led to the DRS trains... WEC made some crazy decisions for 2024 in Qatar and Imola... That season is just going to pick up from here though...

This needs priority and fixing before anything else, terribly, totally unrealistic.

  • Cadillac V-LMdH
    • Note: Due to suspension geometry of this car, it has a tendency to pull steering towards the direction of steering
  • Ferrari 499P LMH

This issue seems to be a strangely common problem for cars in ISI-based sims.

For a mod example in rF2, set a wheel deadzone in-game and try the recently released MX5 Cup mod from Advanced Simulation. It has the exact same issue - if you steer in one direction, then return the wheel to centre, the car continues veering in that direction. Especially annoying for me, who has an old wheel and needs a deadzone in the centre... but it's unrealistic regardless (as you say).

I keep seeing people (misguidedly) say this is nothing but an rF2 clone... but, as you can see, it isn't!
Not going to say a lot in this but: I am sorry to say, it is. The entire base is build up from rFactor 2 steam branch so yes it's a clone. Your argument should be: it's a further developed clone, which then is correct as there is now new and cool things in.

Also once the have completed the content for this season, they could scan Barcelona, Paul Ricard and Mugello to make the ELMS, as they have the cars to do it (update to the stantard of the game the Ligier LMP3). May be as a DLC or something like Kunso does with those kind of things to fund the extra invesment for the scan of the 3 new tracks. Either Le Mans Cup would be an option as the car and the tracks are the same for ELMS. ALMS, I think it would a lot more expensive

Yup its an ISIMotor 2.5 thing, its eveident in quite a few cars in RF2 & LMU

In adition to ELMS and Le Mans Cup , the Ligier European Cup would be an interesting DLC

One of the poll things on this website recently showed that only a smaller percentage of users have VR, so really I don't think it's the end of the world if it doesn't have it. Seems like a vocal minority in the comments makes it sound more popular than it is.
The polls I saw were around 20%. Technically that's a minority, but its still a ton of users. And in general, for games that do VR well, 20% is around where VR usage is at. I think the grumbling is mostly because RF2 has VR and people were expecting it on launch, only for it to be pulled in the last few months. Personally, I can wait, I'd rather they do it properly. You may not think its the end of the world, but if they lose 20% of potential users its a significant chunk of change.

ASAP: Dedicated Server ( League Play. )

Would like to see an Open Testing day option rather than using Race Weekend Practice.

PLEASE give me the option to set number of AI drivers in a session PLEASE !!!!!

VR has to have priority, the fact is that it's already been a few months since dayone, with a cold mind even now I don't know if it's worth it to buy it, let alone if it doesn't come out in June... they would lose a lot of users, including me, and if you lose users extremely in targhet with your product, it means you haven't done a good job

Well these self reporting polls probably overstate the VR % if they are more likely to reply, i bet thats the case here knowing VR players.

Not disagreeing with having VR support being the most imprtant thing though....

All I want is a career mode:cry:
you see, we don't want this at all. Clearly, the possibility of a dedicated server, custom painting, and of course the replacement of wires. If they don't do this, LMU will not survive. I bought it, put it on about 8 races out of 6 times it fell off and I haven't even turned it on since. And I won't even turn it on for at least half a year.

What do you expect from Le Mans Ultimate’s next patch?

VR support with MSAA and online!
nonsense, why do you need to save the race during the course. Start driving an online league and you will discover a completely different world of racing.

what is the meaning of your sentence: ...of course the replacement of wires. What the heck are 'the wires'?

I think that you've quoted the wrong person?

I'm talking about virtual reality and msaa is anti aliasing. The current "VR hack (+vr command)" doesn't work with online only offline.

Will they scan Interlagos? !4th of July and tickets purchased, I'll be there!!!
I was kinda surprised they made a big deal about just getting the scanning of Imola completed recently. I would have 'thought' all the 2024 tracks would have already been scanned and nearly completed. So do we know if any of the other 2024 tracks have been scanned yet??
This is just me assuming, but this seems to indicate the 2024 DLC will come out in pieces rather than just one complete package.

I'd say VR and dedicated server should be priority alongside the new content. All three of those things will bring in more/new players. Dedi server in particular is what the communities need to get going with league races, which this sim is ideal for.
