Youtube channel link?

Hi, it seems my youtube channel link does not work and I think I spotted the problem also, can it be changed?
I presume the default link is www.youtube.com/user/xxx but my channel link is www.youtube.com/c/xxx so whenever I put my name the link does not work because of this
