wrc10 care package - Reduce darkness environments in cockpit view and other shadertweaks see description

- description

The main focus of this mod is to elevate the
rather dark environments when driving in the cockpit.
See screen shots for impressions.

There are a few drawbacks:
- only dx11 is supported this does not work for dx12
- lighter environments (Sweden, etc) can be a bit overbright
- reflections windscreen are reduced in replay and chase cams
- setting bloom on can cause a more darker screen
So you know...

If you do not like specific tweaks please see 'further...

Thanks for the solution for the on screen text being because hunting=1 in the d3dx.ini. It is set that way in the 3Dmigoto-1.3.16.zip that I downloaded, but not in your care package. Great job on the mod. Makes all the difference night driving for those of us that like driving in cockpit view. Cheers :)

Excellent feedback thank you for relating this.
I have added an note to 'optional install' with
your findings.

Hi thrive,

Do you think it's possible to completely remove the dust from the car?to add the blur inside the cockpit?to remove smoke bombs?
Thx

Well first of nice comparison pictures!
With regard to your requests:
Blur in cockpit - difficult
smoke bombs - maybe but actually I find the smoke a bit thin...

I currently do not have any plans for working on
wrc 10, I'm a bit busy with dirt 3 and grid autosport,
that said you could give it a go your self.

Of all the modified shaderfiles I use the originals
can be found in the folder 'shadercache' so that should
help to compare with the modified in 'shaderfixes' and
deduce some of the tricks used to alter the shaders.

An excellent tutorial on using 3dmigoto can be found here:

Hope this helps.

Excellent work mate....... now can you do anything with the audio? more anti lag sounds, and pops n bangs on replays? pops, bangs n churps in cockpit views would be tremendous hahaaha ;)
Thanks for the kudos.
Alas audio is not so much my forté
