What kind of graphics card should I puchase?

My PCI Express 2.0 x16 ATi Radeon HD 5450 is my current card, but I am looking for a good card that is not too hard on cash and can play most game easily on maximum settings.

I am going for an AMD Radeon HD 6000 series, and at my local retailer, Best Buy, they are selling a 6750 for $139.99 plus 9% sales tax and a 6770 for $179.99 + 9% sales tax

They are also selling Radeon HD 6000 lower-end cards at a somewhat lower price.

I am thinking about getting either the 6750 or 6770 when they drop in price.

check out newegg.com their customer service is top notch for things like returns and defective products. Also they're way cheaper than Best Buy

If you want to run things at high levels check out the HD6850, far better than the 6770.

The 6850 performs really well and costs around $160 on newegg

For reference the 6770 was $124 and the 6750 was $105. So I'd steer clear of Best Buy

The HD 6850 and the 6870 perform almost at the same level. The 5870 performs slightly better. If you have a look here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card-gaming-performance,3042-7.html You will see that they are each very near the top of the list for the AMD cards so you can't go wrong regardless.

The HD 6770 is just over $100 at Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131434
The HD 6850 is around $150 at Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908
The HD 6870 is around $175 at Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103196
The HD 5770 is around $120 at Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102873

Based on those prices, your best bet if you wish to have a 6000 series card for the least amount of money and have something that performs quite well, I would go with the HD 6770.
