You can if you like to play in cash tournements, but if you dont want to spend you can play with virtual credits. I never play for real cash.

GT Legends (mostly offline since i can't seem to get it connected online)

Eve online (not very active)
World of Warcraft (rarely ever play it though)
Football Manager 2009 (recently bought it)

This is my list but i must say that racing in Race 07 and addons is speeding to the top of my list atm when it comes to gaming.
