Ironing Board

Honestly it's one of the best things you can use as a cheap and effective stand. It is height adjustable, the legs give you space to fit pedals beneath and most importantly, it's really wide. Allowing me to have the mouse and keyboard accessible means I can navigate menus easily and do all the on-track strategy and stuff on the keyboard with the arrow keys and WASD. I'd say it's a good temporary solution, but I have been racing on an Ironing Board since 2014.

My rig is primarily 'framed' from wood, basically built into the corner of my front room.

I should also add (after seeing Mr. Troschinski's comment) that my rig is also my work station, gaming area, browsing rig... Its my PC that does everything.. Perfectly. Everything is perfectly positioned or adjusts within 5 seconds. All 3 kids can jump in, set up whatever they want to do (driving, shooters, movies, whatever) totally effortlessly.

Due to lack of space for a full rig:
- sturdy wheel stand
- seat on wheeled little rig

Not ideal, but I can roll the seat under my large desk and roll the stand out of the way into another room.

My PC is in my kitchen. And I can only put the rig sideways to the desk and use VR xD

I use my PC for many things (other games, some work, tv stream ..... ) so a Rig is not really welcome.
I have a stable desktop for my CSL DD 8Nm with a gaming chair with firm feet on a washing machine anti-slip mat

Used an anti slip mat on my 1st wheel stand too :) Works like a charm. Used the thick anti vibration rubbers for a washing machine/dryer under the stand (and a few thinner ones stacked underneath) in my previous apartment to not annoy the downstairs neighbors.

I never considered my desk just to avoid the hassle of setting it up and breaking it down every time.

I'm not entirely sure how to classify it. I have triples on a desk and I attach my wheel to that same desk. And a homemade wooden rig with a car seat and pedals attached to that. Would that count as a pull-out rig?

I would like to have a dedicated sim rig with everything on it, but I don't have the space for it. So I am on a desk with triples and removable dd wheel with h-pattern gear stick. I use the same pc for track building, video editing and music recording and mixing and I want the big engine for the dd wheel out of the way when I am doing this. I know, it is not an ideal situation but I am used to it.
And I use a second pc with a 32" single screen for racing, if we want to race together. But I use this pc also for other things, and removing the wheel when doing so.
I am dreaming of moving to another location with enough space for 2 sim rigs with mega triples or projector screens and also a separate pc for the track building / video editing / music recording. I will let you know when my dream comes true .....

Jimmy Broadbent once asked us to share images from our "sim rig" and commented on that. Would it not be nice if we share such images here? I would love to see all those "sim rigs".

Best thread/discussion on Racedepartment.

We recently had a small tangent on cable management.
