Discuss, support, encourage and share!
This event thread will be the central thread for the F1 series discussions this week.
You can ask other drivers to practice or race with you by using the tag function of the forum. Please type an @ directly followed by the user name and this person will receive a notification or just leave a post that you will be participating in the first upcoming race, and of course we very much like to see your race reports:)
Our racing clubs are foremost meant to gain online experience so please help other drivers out when they have questions about the event, the car, the track, the setup or a combination. Remember that first post where somebody else helped you for the first time, helping is nice!
Have a great week and see you on track!

Marussia F1

The Marussia-Cosworth MR01 has less downforce than many of the top teams. Fast reactions are needed, and for many, finding the limit of the car may be an enormous challenge. It may also be fun!

Drivers will also need to take care of the brakes, as with all Formula One cars the MR01’s brake performance trails off over a full race distance at some circuits. An adapted driving style and engine braking will help, but it’s important to note that maximum braking can only be applied from braking zones over 300km/h -he brake must then be eased off as the aerodynamic load decreases. It also may not be possible to use 100% braking pressure at all circuits, so reducing brake pressure in the setup is also an option.

Tyre management is also critical over a long race. You will need to minimize how much you spin the tires to reduce thermal degradation, and if you do pass a critical level, it may be difficult or impossible to bring the tires back to the desired level for best performance. Watch those temperatures closely and then back off to bring them under control, you will lose less time over an entire run.

Silverstone
Originally opened by the Royal Air Force as RAF Silverstone in 1943, this ex-World War II air base with its connecting roads between runways became host to the British Grand Prix for the first time in 1948. It also hosted the first round of the Formula One World Championship in 1950, and over the years has held the race on varying layouts and circuit redesigns throughout the history of Formula One. The track also serves as the ‘home race’ for the majority of the Formula One teams and personnel, many teams located very close by.

It’s hard for many to imagine the history of motor racing without Silverstone, it is so deeply entwined with the great drivers who have both raced and won there. Great names like Alonso, Schumacher, Prost, Senna, Brabham and Ascari join British race winners like Moss, Clark, Stewart, Mansell, Hill and Hamilton.

The new track, first raced in 2010 by GT cars, is now vastly different to the high-speed and relatively simplistic circuit it once was, now with high and slow speed turns, it has become a far greater technical challenge for driver, team and even tire manufacturers.

Hello guys,

I wanna race on sunday with the f1 on Silverstone, and in the first post I will make a sign-up list, so if someone wants to join me post here and I add you to the list! (offcourse if people want to race on every other day of the week the races are still on for people who are interested, I just can't make it)

@David O'Reilly @Dmitrij Bugaev @Dewald Nel @Tiens Van Zyl and @William Geuze

Wanna race on sunday?

Sure thing, Ive tried joining the past days and nobody was there :(

Good to hear you will be there sunday!

I will probably be doing some more sign up lists in the coming weeks, to help organizing the races on specific days to gather more people on a single evening, that used to work in the past.:)
Now it seems people are not sure when people will be online. It might also be that some people are practicing more for the VWEC event.

We will keep giving the members their freedom and are still invited to Tag other people to gather people for a race for every day of the week, like we have it now. :)
