Introduction
Are you wondering how to use the mirrors app that comes with Shader Patch for Assetto Corsa?
Hey RD, this is my first post here and I'm wondering if I should post these guides here instead of /r/assettocorsa or both or not. Please let me know what do you think?
Any suggestions to improve this guide?
Cheers,

Why
If like me and you drive in VR then setting up the mirrors app properly will not only give you that immersion goodness but also add to the realistic visual feedback that is experienced in the real world. The key is to set up the side and center mirrors correctly before you start your drive.
What
There are a number of stages for this guide. We'll spend some time enabling some settings in Content Manager as well as the mirrors app while in driving mode.
How
Enable Mirrors (video settings)

What
There are a number of stages for this guide. We'll spend some time enabling some settings in Content Manager as well as the mirrors app while in driving mode.
How
Enable Mirrors (video settings)
Follow these steps to enable mirrors.
- In Content Manager
- Go to Settings/Assetto Corsa/Video
- Look for Mirrors heading
- Under Mirror resolution select 64x256 or higher depending on your system specs
- Optionally tick High quality checkbox depending on your system specs
Follow these steps to enable the Shaders Extension Mirrors app.

Follow these steps to enable smart mirror in Shaders Patch.
- In Content Manager
- Go to Settings/Custom Shaders Patch/Smart Mirror
- Tick the Active box under Extension and view alteration settings
- Tick the Active box under Real Mirrors
Follow these steps to test drive our mirrors app
- In Content Manager
- Go to Drive/Single/Quick
- Select a Kunos car
I’ve selected the Ferrari F40 - Select a Kunos track
I’ve selected the Nordschleife Endurance Cup layout - Set the time to 9am
- Select Few Clouds (Sol) for Weather
- Select Practice
- Start from Starting Line
- Click Go
Follow these steps to adjust the mirrors to your liking.
- Click the Drive icon
- Select Shaders Patch Mirrors from the apps list
- The L means the left mirror is currently adjustable
- Click U, D, L, R to move your left mirror up, down, left or right respectivly.
- Once you're happy with the left mirror...
- Click the + next to L
- It should say C for Center or R for right mirror if it's available
Note that some cars may not have extra mirrors. - Repeat steps 4 to 6 until all your mirrors are adjusted to your liking
- Optionally you can adjust the FOV field of view for each mirror
- The mirror settings are saved automatically for each car.
Recap
- Not all cars have left, right and center mirrors.
- You will need a pretty powerful system to handle the 3D mirror effects.
