Let's fill up the grid! You can ask other drivers to race with you by using the tag function of the forum. Just type an @ directly followed by the user name and this person will receive a notification. Example @@RaceDepartment

Our racing clubs are foremost meant to gain online experience so please help other drivers out when they have questions about the event, the car, the track, the setup or a combination. This is not a league race, it's not about who wins, it's for some fun, so please join us on TeamSpeak and build a little community spirit! The more fun we make it, the more inclined people will be to join in and make the grids bigger.

Important:
  • First lap will be a controlled, single file pace lap.
  • The lead car controls the pace, and must stay between 80-150km/h (50-93 mph).
  • The lead car cannot accelerate to full race pace until his car is positioned between the final corner and the start/finish line. Once they're within in this designated zone, the lead car is free to accelerate to race pace at the point of his choosing.
  • There will be no overtaking during the pace lap, and no overtaking is allowed until your car has crossed the start/finish line.
  • If there are any queries regarding further clarification of this rule, please contact the event organizer.

Priority access
In case of a large amount of sign-ups premium members are given priority access to enter this event.

NOTE TO CLUB MEMBERS:
I would just like to remind everyone these club events are just for fun. No matter if you are posting record lap times, or if you are vastly off the pace, how fast or slow you are does not matter. As long as you are able to follow the rules, and be courteous towards other drivers, you have something to contribute as well as something to learn from others. Please don't be discouraged by how well you know the car or track. If you are someone who is normally competing for podiums, but you don't know the track, look at it as a test of your instincts and an opportunity for the slower members to place higher. I realise everyone wants to be competitive, but this results in lower sign ups as people tend to shy away from events they are not as fast in. So please, sign up for events you are slow in as well. This is all about the fun and the learning experience, leagues will come later for all the :alien:'s.

Sorry guys, I just figured out the times... I'm gonna have to back out, it's waaay too early for me. Shame, looked like a good race :(

Since I new to race department, I have to ask, when will a/the server be open for practice. If one is not open yet, what layout of Silverstone are we racing (so I can get some Laps in).

The server will be up for booking by 10:00 EDT and will be open for booking until 11:00 EDT. At that time a half hour practice session will start followed by 15 minute qualifying then the race. I can put up the server for practice until about 09:00 EDT. I will PM the info for that to everyone signed up in a few minutes.

Edit: I will send out that pm sometime tomorrow.

I'd really like to get back into it since I feel awful about no-showing the last US server race I entered (depression isn't fun, ladies and gents) but I'm gonna have commitments that night so...next time, maybe. :(

Very nearly managed to get a GT3 car on the top step of the podium. The kerbs never seem to play nice when I need them to be. :p

Was a fun race all around. Struggled in practice and quali and only after a few quick setup changes did I find pace for the race. Most of my race was involved in a battle with Joao in his Corvette. He had the advantage just about everywhere except pure top speed, and only after he had a poor exit out of Becketts did I manage to make a move down Hangar Straight into Stowe to get past him. I held first for a few laps but the previously mentioned kerb issues out of Luffield caused my car to spin, which sent me back to third. Ended up second after Chris' fuel strategy didn't quite pay off.

Great driving and well done on the win Joao, and thanks for the hosting the event Ryan as always. :)
