Let's fill up the grid! You can ask other drivers to race with you by using the tag function of the forum. Just type an @ directly followed by the user name and this person will receive a notification. Example @@RaceDepartment

Our racing clubs are foremost meant to gain online experience so please help other drivers out when they have questions about the event, the car, the track, the setup or a combination. This is not a league race, it's not about who wins, it's for some fun, so please join us on TeamSpeak and build a little community spirit! The more fun we make it, the more inclined people will be to join in and make the grids bigger.

Priority access
In case of a large amount of sign-ups premium members are given priority access to enter this event.

NOTE TO CLUB MEMBERS:
I would just like to remind everyone these club events are just for fun. No matter if you are posting record lap times, or if you are vastly off the pace, how fast or slow you are does not matter. As long as you are able to follow the rules, and be courteous towards other drivers, you have something to contribute as well as something to learn from others. Please don't be discouraged by how well you know the car or track. If you are someone who is normally competing for podiums, but you don't know the track, look at it as a test of your instincts and an opportunity for the slower members to place higher. I realise everyone wants to be competitive, but this results in lower sign ups as people tend to shy away from events they are not as fast in. So please, sign up for events you are slow in as well. This is all about the fun and the learning experience, leagues will come later for all the :alien:'s.

NOTICE

The soft compound tyres (which is the only one currently available for this mod) will not last 24 laps. We are still deciding how to work around this the best way, so keep an eye on the OP to stay updated on changes.

Hey, who is that other guy!! I'll try to get together with you on that time. Are you on TS. Maybe I can get a server setup for practice with anyone who wants to.

Thanks Ryan! - I was just talking to Logan and he was showing me that it was already set up for practice:) I have some extra server machines sitting around at the office also, so if we need another US server someday I can easily set one up. Not sure what good it would do now but it is available.

Sign me in, been looking forward to seeing these cars at a club event. :) I suppose the most simple solution to the tyre problem is to lower the wear rate % down? I wouldn't actually mind a race where tyre life is a huge factor though.

That's one possibility, the other idea is to have a pace car (we already have a volunteer to drive the pace car) and round everyone up for a pit stop half way through. Sounds kind of interesting, so we may test that out tomorrow evening.

Why not just do 2x15 lap races?

The safety car/pitstop thing will really complicate things. Because people wont be in the same order they pit.

True. The 2x15 isn't bad except it wont work for all races. Just because it requires someone to reset the server. That can cause a lot of confusion too, especially if everyone isn't on TS. I think for this the best option is probably to reduce tyre wear.

maybe we should just let everyone pit to change tires when they want if they need to. That might make for some interesting strategy. could even make the race longer so they have to pit at some point, like maybe 30 laps.

That is another option, but there are some drawbacks to that also. For one, you have to cross the start/finish line before clicking back to pits, which means if your pit box is at the back you have to drive further at pit speed.
