F1 2018 Total Noob

I am new to sim racing. I have bought a rig (Fanatec) and my first game is F1 2018 on an XBOX. It's taking me a while to get used to it. I am thinking I should really start off with a slower paced game/car (maybe the MX5 cup in iRacing) until I get used to it all.

What does everyone think? Or should I just persevere?
