The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Announced

Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, is scheduled for November 11th, 2011.

It's nice to know there will be a sequel to Oblivion, which is one of me favorite games. Just a shame ive got to wait a year........

Here's a link to the site with a trailer.....http://elderscrolls.com/

Really disappointed, i was expecting the next Elder Scrolls Game would include the whole Tamriel, anyway they will use a new engine, perhaps we can get other continents as DLCs :)

Here's some of the latest info and some screenshots..........:D

  • The new engine being built will include dynamic snowfall, shadows, and greater environmental detail.
  • There will be five "massive" cities and there will be more to do in them like blacksmithing, farming, and cooking.
  • There will be five schools of magic: Destruction, Alteration, Conjuration, Restoration, and Illusion. Mysticism has been removed and Enchantment will be a skill.
  • There will be 18 skills, down from 21 in Oblivion, these skills can be tailored to the type of character you wish to play.
  • Skyrim will have perks like Fallout.
  • Quests will be more dynamic with some being randomly generated and other being tailored to your play style.

I read an interview from someone at bethesda two weeks ago, that Skyrim will use the same leveling system as Oblivion.
I really hope that wont happen.

I have looked into the release for some time now. 11.11.11 is an interesting release date and it makes me wonder why they are waiting so long. Obviously if they can pin that date down at this time, they know that the game will be ready for release by then. This in turn means that it will most likely be ready for release prior to that, but by how much I have no idea. I am thinking that something else meaningful is going to happen on 11.11.11 and they wish to be associated with it.
