Hi all

Fuzo has just released two cars, an updated Cupra and a new Hyundai Elantra.

To use these mods you need to have Custom Shaders Patch version 0.2.3 installed!

I have set up some practice on server 7 at Blackwood if anyone wants to gives these a try with a view to doing a race on Thursday 1st August.

I have also added the Fiat Tipo Comp, the Lada Vesta and 2022 Cupra to the server as alternatives.

Maybe two classes??

Great news Paul, if they're anything like the previous TCR iterations they'll be superb

Hope Custom Shaders Patch 02.3 doesn't cause problems, shows as untested in my CM :O_o:

Fwiw, a lad we race with online races irl in the Tegiwa Type R Trophy Championship, was blown away with how realistic the TCR cars are.

John,

you can use the Cupra on an older CSP, but it´s not a pretty sight:

I´ve updated this afternoon and have not had any problems.

Fuzo (the car modder) said the recommended version 1.79 was medieval:O_o:.

Also find Fuzo´s guide to the launch control, it´s rather intricate (and incomplete, he advises the use of a hand brake but omits how to do it exactly....)

Yes, they work on 1.79, haven't tried anything later yet. The Elantra feel a bit boat like in stock form but it's good to get another TCR car, hopefully there will be more.

I have just added the Lada Vesta and 2022 Cupra to the test server (link in first post), lets see how these compare.
Only noticed that ('22 Cupra) late on Paul, will have a play with it.

After @pcmoreno Paulo's great drive and lap times on Thurs thought I'd give it another try - feels massively different to the Cupra and Hyundai (which have great feeling and ffb), and even though it's 'loose' generally, it's a fun and quick car. As I type, the humble pie is streaming down my cheeks

Impressions so far of the Lada, I think, is:

to see that the TCR cars ( indenpendently from their modell year) can be driven inbetween 3/10 of a sec.
(driver tolerances apply)

Though, if the "dead resting parrot" meme wasn´t already taken I´d apply it to the Hyunday.

Compared to the Cupra this is a snooze fest.

Maybe (very maybe) I´ll also try the other cars, i already had a bad experience with the Fiat ( and who hasn´t)

I´d apply it to the Hyunday.
I do wonder if our rig setups (ffb etc) have something to do with this, someone else said it feels a bit naff, but I thought it was stonking in the the first few laps, and there's definitely another 3 - 5 tenths in it - and I'm sure a lot more from the quick lads here.

Surprise for me was the Fiat, felt I was overdriving far too much (can't do 'smooth':p) then was shocked when I saw the time, it felt so much slower than the others, and it's a whopping 8 - 9kph down on top speed as far as I can tell.

I think you are onto something there John. Different people have different experiences with different cars so there must be something in our rig set ups.
Now I know that there are a wide range of wheelbases/pedals being used, and someone with the most basic kit can go faster than the more elaborate (read expensive) equipment, so it comes down to how it feels for the individual.
I have spent a lot of time fine tuning my mid range set up to get it to feel how I like it and what gives me the best immersion and as close as to what I imagine that car might be like to drive, mostly at the expense if outright fast lap times. After all, we are just moving pixels around on a screen and getting some feeling back through our wheels and pedals.
But like the old.... experienced Carsten said above :D , it does amaze me how we all (or mostly all of us) manage to race, side by side with only millimeters and thousands of a second between us, on different equipment, with different ping in different parts of the planet and not manage to wipe out the entire field.
For me the Cupra feels great and I have had my friend who is a real life TCR UK driver test the 2018 version. He reckons it's pretty damm close to his real Gen 1 Cupra. The Hyundai feels different, because it probably is IRL . The Fiat while not in the true TCR bracket is a different feel but has some speed and the Lada Norwegian Blue ;) ...well for me it feels nice to drive with good feedback but is lacking in power and top end. But having said that, someone like John will get it going a second or two more than me on their equipment and with their skills.

But the idea is to try to find and match TCR cars that we all can race and having a choice is a good thing in my opinion. I may have to have two classes, just like the real TCR UK but that allows for different skill sets to have a chance of a podium. But it is early days and work in progress for this older retired guy who should know better...............!! I'm off now for my afternoon nap!

Totally agree with that Paul, I've a cheap-ish but decent setup (10nm DD from sim-pli.city ) and Heuskinkvelds, though still on single screen, and it amazes me too that we have such great quality events

...and: @stigs2cousin Carsten isn't old, he just sounds it:p; you don't need your naps 'cos I'm older than you:whistling:, which brings me to... how the f @Kek700 Ernie is still so damn quick:roflmao:

Nope, same time as you Paul, nice to drive but in this field it's flogging a dead Donkey. Carsten is handy in fwd, as Jason, Hank, Ernie, Fulvio and others are, though I doubt it'l get into the 15's:unsure:

If you ever went for 2 classes in this field, maybe worth looking at the JCW Mini, Hinda Civic Cup??

Just tried the '22 Cupra, we're still in love :roflmao:

I guess you could call my equipment elaborate then, during Corinna my car/track budget went into a simulator.
( and I never restarted lapping NOS after that. It´s just so much cheaper to cock up in AC than irl and way less "brown pants moments")

not so sure about that ( not the you being ancient part) but I find myself falling asleep in my armchair more and more often.

No explanation on that fact!?!

Why you say something this cruel??
If @HF2000 reads this he will mock me mercylessly:cry:

Challenge accepted ( and bested:cool:

22 or 24, these are my kind of cars. But they work very well with my simulator, the road feel is just sublime ((DD wheel and tactile for butt and feet)

Cupra 24 Elantra 24 Fiat Vesta

I can put the TCRs and the Fiat between 0,5sec, the Vesta sturdily 1sec behind. That is after some superficial setup work. I believe the Vesta will not be able to sustain this pace though as 3laps are enough to roast the front left tyre. It also lacks the range in adjustment in the setup to counter this characteristics.

Thanks Carsten, great testing feedback.

Funnily I tried them all, from my point of view took a dislike too most of them and maybe it is my sim gear. But as soon as I tried the Fiat, it felt exactly fwd “right”.
