Some Questions, What Is This Game Capale Of?

Might buy this due to limited hardware, but I'd like to ask some questions before I take the punt and invest the time.

What's the car limit (Modded or unmodded)? How do tracks (Modded or unmodded) cope with this?

Is there multiclass racing? Are there custom grids? Is there customisation to the extent of GTR2, Rfactor 1/2, AMS etc.? Are there separate classes supported in custom championships of any sort (even if it's an rFactor log analyser kinda thing)?

Can races be saved mid-race like GTR2 or rFactor2? How reliable is it? Are there known issues with it?

As a lover of multiclass endurance racing, I'm basically looking for (in an ideal situation) rFactor 1 with mid-race saves and custom championships.

Does this game suit these questions?
Are there any basic issues to know before purchase?
Does Steam and Windows 10 work fine with this or are there issues?

Many thanks for any input.

please allow me answer your questions in three parts,

1. what does Race07 not have

vs.rf1/GTR2/AMS1: no support for custom shaders, no safety car
vs. rf1/GTR2: no night, no multi class defs for cars, less track & car mods, a car limit
vs.AMS1: inferior AI (multi class races), older rf1 physics for cars & tracks
see here https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/gtr2-vs-ams1.170275/#post-3000308
vs.rf1: no upgrades system
vs.rf2: completely a different class of game

overall : non existing Multiplayer and Modding scene

2. what does it have
it has wipers, easy player generated custom grids (due class system)
pretty easy (car)modding
big content on startup for money (if you buy RaceOn or Race Injection)

3. now your questions
What's the car limit (Modded or unmodded)? How do tracks (Modded or unmodded) cope with this?

> in theory 255 cars & 255 classes of cars
> but if you use alternate championships generator, then you can overcome this limit

> tracks, no limit & no problems

Is there multiclass racing?

> yes, but the AI, is not ready for this, but in which game it is? (look for multi class on you tube > and AMS1 multiclass is better, but still a joke)

Are there custom grids?
> yes, with the carfilter (AMS1 has something similar, in GTR2 you need to make it manual)

Is there customisation to the extent of GTR2, Rfactor 1/2, AMS etc.?

> this depends what you mean, but i would say, yes

Are there separate classes supported in custom championships of any sort (even if it's an rFactor log analyser kinda thing)?

> no, because it meant to be the WTCC game, but ...
> custom championships, yes
> motec, yes
> results log, yes

Can races be saved mid-race like GTR2 or rFactor2?

> no

How reliable is it? Are there known issues with it?

> pretty good, Multiplayer Netcode, is not much better then GTR2

As a lover of multiclass endurance racing, I'm basically looking for (in an ideal situation) rFactor 1 with mid-race saves and custom championships.

> sorry no save, only between quali, race, training

Does this game suit these questions?

> yes & no, if you can live without night & midrace saving, race07 is much better them rfactor1

Are there any basic issues to know before purchase?

> you should have minimum a dual core processor and 4GB of RAM
> then you can enjoy races upto 105 cars

Does Steam and Windows 10 work fine with this or are there issues?

> yes, still there are some minor problems (changing from fullscreen to window, but thats it)

three remarks:
1. you can add bots in race07 multiplayer game
2. it will be hard to find (mod) resources for race07

3.you must be aware, that there thousands of mods for GTR2 , so when you look for ready content take GTR2
but you can always convert it to race

Apologies on coming back but I've bought, downloaded and had a bit of a play with Race07 and I have one thing that I want to do that I can't work out how to do.

I would like to create a new class of cars, add existing cars to it and effectively create a series. I would then like to increase the number of AI that run in that series. How do I do this?

In AMS I'd make a copy of a file/image pair in the Series folder, change the vehicle filter and change the filter in corresponding cars .veh files to match.

Much appreciated.

as cars in race07 can only have one class, you have following options:

you use the CAR FILTER, and choose the car classes needed for a single race
or create a championship (with the help of the car filter)

or

you use an alternative championship generator, where you can choose on skin level

or

create a new INCCAR file for the car needed witn a new class entry
copy the CAR files of the cars wanted and point to the new INCCAR
