Title says it all. It's available now, so for those with much more skill than me, how does it fare? Especially compared to Dirt Rally?
Given your struggles in specific sections, I'm not very convinced by your arguments here, honestly. I'd give it a bit more time, especially if you're overly used to DR or RBR like a lot of people who are currently struggling with the game.
A very large chunk of people, on Steam and elsewhere, are reporting that, after adjusting, the game feels significantly better. Unsurprisingly, the basic 2-hour period that Steam gives you for trying or refunding is nowhere near enough. The only issue is the way the rear grip functions, which I think CM have acknowledged, so I'm expecting a fix soon.Give it more time, why? Will the physics actually improve?
Yes. Once you get out of the early classes and especially the early championships it gets significantly faster. The difficulty setting is not the only thing that influences the AI pace. Will the AI speed up?
Frankly, nobody is the best at everything. There were things that even he couldn't do, just like how, in F1, Schumacher was not a very good qualifier and could not, for example, exploit something like how Hakkinen would greatly unsettle the car on entry for a better line.I'm doing things in this game which Colin McRae couldn't do.
One look at the current batch of circuit sim racers should show you that this is an actual problem - circuit simracing has stagnated greatly over the last 10 years at the very least.we need to bin every sim racing game in the last 20 years
You're going to have to get over it.You say I'm misinterpreting videos, which is actually a bit insulting.
On all of those 3, you're well and truly doing it wrong if you're actually struggling with any of those. We've got 4WD cars that can't do donuts, FWD cars that autocorrect at high speed in gravel, and cars with no weight transfer
Just tried it. No issues doing anything in that video. In fact, it's a lot easier than in DR, where, in many places, I had to rely on weird, unrealistic gimmicks to get something like that working.
The first part is the only one I can give you, as it lines up with the one big issue of the physics right now, but even then he ****s up more than anything else.
No issues here either in modern cars. In older cars, yeah, somewhat, but they did say that they're working on it.
Simply put, you're making too many mistakes or going too slow if you can't break the grip, especially on the front. The rear will be fixed, but even that can still be broken just fine.It cannot do what real cars can do because the grip levels are too high.
This just about says it all, doesn't it? This one is entirely on you and harms pretty much every other argument you've raised.it stops you from doing proper Scandanavia flicks
Yes, downgrade. Gearbox failures isn't everything. Please compare even breaking sound(squeal less), engine sounds is a less raw as well. If you can't hear difference then...

Is it just me or is there an invisible steering aid? The in game wheel don´t match my steering inputs
What is NGP physics?I agree!
DiRT Rally has many imperfections, but at its core is an engaging & addicting driving package. DiRT 4 flips this experience on its head - It's improved on its immediate predecessor in so many aspects in Rallycross and off the stage, but I really do not like the core driving experience, more realistic or not, on the rally stages
After some deliberation, I decided to refund it and wait until I can get it in the bargain bin. Speaking of bargain bins, I also picked up RBR yesterday and wow. I honestly found the game of over 10 years old to be the more engaging experience. Add some NGP physics and I found it even better, too - definitely will be playing a lot of this and more of DiRT Rally in the future

I know this isn't realism at its finest, but IF the rallycross cars are better, would it be possible to use them in rallies instead of the normal ones? Like an unlimited class or something (RDRC season 2...)The sad thing is, landrush and especially rallycross cars feel much, much better.

Sorry, S9.
Point taken, but it would certainly be a blast to drive modern 600+HP cars on real rally stages
Ole, are you cooking up something for us for S9? Plans in motion already? I'm missing my bi-weekly rally fix.
