Godrays at night:

This is an old AC/Yebis bug. Sun was never meant to go lower than the horizon. So YEBIS does not clear the godrays buffer. What you see at night is just a left image in this buffer.
But you can prevent this by setting this value higher then 0.0.

Just set it to 0.1 or something...

best regards
Peter
Wow, that's it! Thank you so much Peter! This has resolved the image issue.

I just installed SKY 1.2 (love SKY as a filter) but I have a massive fps drop from 120-130 to 40-45 now.

I also find the ingame menu 'GT icons' (when paused and going to replay etc) not great, so to speak, how do I get the normal icons in the ingame menu back please?

And what about getting back to high FPS?

Thanks
Cheers
Robin
Is this your first time using SKY? SKY is fully utilizing Pure to achieve greater visuals. My CSP settings are catered for High end users. You'll need to tweak a few things to achieve higher FPS.

I am not so sure about the GT icons, are you talking about the new menu look from CSP?

SKY GT for pure is amazing man, really! i have a problem that need a fix: in day race you can see light of brakes and start lights on the asphalt..could you please check and fix?
I did have a look, this is most likely your CSP Lighting FX settings!

Bit of an issue with your CSP settings...

If I use your SKYMAX settings, Sol transitions beautifully from weather to weather, and you can see the clouds move across the sky when this happens - never used to happen before, so that's cool!

However, everything is milky with no depth to the shadows at all.

My settings:

Your CSP settings:

Another thing to mention - when I use your CSP settings, I can't change anything in the Sol Config app in-game. The quality is down to 60%, and nothing makes a difference. If I use my own CSP settings I can change everything in-game, but Sol doesn't update beautifully when transitioning from weather to weather. The clouds also look different...

Very weird. Any ideas?

EDIT: Found it.

IMPLEMENTATION=pure

Removing that, I'm getting proper visuals once again. The only thing is, I've never installed Pure so perhaps it's conflicting. Either way, removing that line in the CSP setting under WeatherFX worked a charm.

Perhaps make two versions, one for Sol and another for Pure?
Yes! Uploading two versions shortly!

Hey. here to help you out with the moon godrays In return all I ask is to give us a shoutout; Toni from AEO Boyz helped me fix the same issue with my filter:
you need to insert this in to your ppfilter lua :

" local result = night_compensate(0)
if result > 0 then
ac.setGodraysLength(0)
else
ac.setGodraysLength(5)
end
end"

set your godrays to whatever you want it. (5) ( i guess to match the godrays in your ini file)

This needs to be inserted before -- Pure get/set functions line

dm me it you have any questions

disregard the slider line. you need the rest what I wrote on top. just attaching the pic to u see the spacing and whatnot
Thank you so much Toni! I already fixed the god rays at night, you'll still get a shoutout. I also joined your discord :p

One last thing; I love the glares in the day time, and from the car headlights in the night... but the RPM lights are blinding. I guess you can't have control over the gare in the day/night?

Yeah the thing is.. SKY GT is supposed to be used with Pure, so you'll have some funky results. I'll see what I can do for SOL. For now, you should reduce the luminance or use SKY glare settings on SKY GT

Ah I see. It's only a minor thing to be honest... I'll see if I can fiddle to get a Sol version working at night.

Honestly though, beautiful results dude!

I really love the SKYGT filter. In the chaser cam everything looks fine and super crispy but whenever I go to first person everything looks super blurry... anyway I can fix this?

But this will switch the godrays in the nighttimes, which is too late. There is an integrated function in Sol, "sol modifies godrays". This will switch the godrays if the sun is crossing the horizon.

I've found the fix for the night glare issue!

JmFxtXS.jpg

That bottom value 'emissive_night' can pull back the emissive lights only at night. It's on 125% at the moment, but if you turn it down to 50% it solves the issue, while still keeping those lovely GT7-style glares in the day.

125%:

50%:

It's on Page 20 of the Sol configurator; bottom value.

Hope that helps!

Unfortunately, I understand none of what you just said. I know 1 thing. I had the same issue and this code fixed it. I have godrays day time and no godrays from the moon.

No it's not the first time and I tweaked already a few things. The 'GT icons' I don't know, but this is when I PAUZE AC en get this: That's new for me.

Not the first time using SKY and I already tweaked some stuff. About the 'GT icons', when I PAUZE AC this is what I get, new to me.

Cheers Robin

They code will work. But there is a better way to control the godrays.
The SKY ppfilter script has already the code to lower the godrays length. So that was not the problem:
1670744978059.png

That part of the script also takes the users settings into account and makes some dynamic adjustments to the godrays if the sun is getting nearer to the horizon.
It also fades out the godrays, if you turn the camera to the side, which prevents those silly long rays.
By using the "pure.pp.getGodraysModulator()" function, it returns a mix of the current user settings from here:
1670745189757.png

and it will fade to 0, if sun is reaching the horizon. So you have already lower sunrays with very low suns.

So the problem was not the script, it was an old YEBIS bug, when setting the DIFFRACTION RING to 0. Then a not cleared buffer picture appears at night.

Reducing the glare luminance helps slightly, but it is still unusable.
Also, changing emissive_night in SOL has no effect.

That's odd, using Sol and changing that on Page 20 of Sol Configurator worked a charm for me. The game looks ridiculously good on Sol with the included CSP graphics (though I've used my own variant for performance reasons).

Put it this way, these aren't edited:

In fact, it seems that the whole of the SOL configuration panel has no effect.
