A rare American Supercar concept. 3.2 seconds 0-60 Mph!
Even though Steve Saleen has walked away from the company, that is not to say that vehicles bearing his name have lost any edge. One look at the all new for 2010 Saleen S5S Raptor would certainly clear up any misconceptions. The car is replacing the S7 which is no longer being sold State Side. With a very healthy five liter supercharged V8 baring out 460 horsepower it is definitely earns its place in the supercar arena. The cars new styling resembles that of many European exotics but still retains its American based grunt with the help of 630 lb.ft of torque. The car is designed to use E85 ethanol which is claimed to allow the car an additional 5% hp increase over a strictly gasoline equivalent, this is due in part to raised compression. The performance numbers are not to shabby either with 0-60 sprints in just 3.2 seconds and clicking off quarter mile times in the high 10’s its no surprise that this 200mph top speed demon is ready to take on some exotics!
