RSS GT historical accuracy fix - Even the best can be improved 2: early 2000s boogaloo

RSS GT PACK IS REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR THIS MOD TO WORK

I ABSOLUTELY love the RSS GT pack; so much so that i thought i'd give the cars the historical accuracy they deserve

WHAT HAS BEEN TWEAKED?

- engine RPM limit
- idle (on some cars, maybe)
- digital instruments

INSTALL

First, open CM and change the UI as shown in the attachments

then, drop the ACD file in the car's respective folders

and finally, come back to CM (unless you closed it) and change the power graph...

the physics are amazing, i only tweaked the electronics (in the form of the rev lights and the rev counter) and the engine
but what was "wrong" about the engine? RSS has very fine class balancing in mind when they made these cars (I remember all the discussion about matching the MC12 GT1s performance, which was decided against)

it's very strange to see the Vortex (viper) going past 6.5k whereas the original car went barely over 6k; this mod gives ONLY historical accuracy for who wants it. if youre ok with the original data, just change the UI numbers and dont DL it

So your source is a single website, therefore your information is more "historically correct" than the information the year-long modding team used to create a delicate balance of power between very different cars, most likely taken from multiple sources.

Uhuh.

EDIT: Not to mention that this is probably not tested to see if it still makes sense to race these cars against each other now.

Just a question: Does the Lister Storm get a higher or lower rev limit?
Because a bit higher rev limit is resulting in the engine running out of breath acoustically: Sound gets muted till no sound at all in my case.
So I think those Jag V12s were already 'done' way below 7000?

Thanks for all the efforts. Planning to download it.

Cheers
Robin

well, i already made the request to delete it so, hurry to DL it and test them against each other on a single lap in any track of your choice
