Are you new to simracing? Is Online Racing a step you haven't braved yet? Do you fear making mistakes or getting other people's way on track? Well guess what, this is the place to banish all of those thoughts and come and join us for a night of exceptional racing and camaraderie where none of those fears will be an issue.

Rookie Nights are aimed at you - the Rookies. New people to simracing, or simply people who jump on a server and find themselves seconds off the pace. We want to help, and to give you a place to experience the wonderful joy of racing other simracers with the same passion.

If you have any question on the night about racing on RD or online in general, or about how you are driving or anything else - ASK. We are a helpful bunch, and when it comes to getting people up to speed or doing our best to convince you to keep coming back! There is no such thing as a stupid question at these events.

Eligibility: You must be a PREMIUM member. You must also use your REAL NAME on all RD servers and Discord, and include this in your forum profile. It is the only way of identifying who you are during an event.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE JOINING
This race is open to anyone of any skill level. All racers who are regular in these races are welcome to join too, this isn't a Rookie exclusive event.

If you have not raced in these events very much, or often find yourself many seconds off, feel free to sign up in a Rookie spot. The purpose of this race is to work with you to help improve your laptimes and consistency, and get you experience of what racing is like in Online Lobbies where racing rules are enforced. Yes, this is not just any old Public Server full of rammers and dangerous racers, this is the place where good etiquette is encouraged.
Please acquaint yourselves with our Racing Rules.

However, do NOT be put off by these rules. Though aspects such as the Golden Rule may seem scary at first, you will quickly see that this is the best part of racing on Race Department.
Everybody races cleanly! Divebombs are calculated, Slipstreams are respected and if you're there, everyone leaves enough room for you! Don't be scared of being forced off at the next corner and keep the racing going.

For the rookies, if you want any driving tips, we are happy to give them to you. Silverstone National is a short circuit with only 4 real corners, so it won't take long to learn it. If you want anyone to help you go faster or stay on track, ask in the Discord and someone will do their best to help you. When there's no prizes for winning, it doesn't matter if you're having a wheel-to-wheel battle for 4th or 14th, we all come away with the same aspect of fun from it.

Sign up, jump on the server nice and early to get some laps in and say hello to us on Discord for an excellent evening.

Also it's Portugal vs Uruguay on at the same time. Being Portuguese or Uruguayan is the only World Cup-related excuse I will accept for skipping this one :roflmao:

SERVER IS UP

Fixed setup loaded on the server, which is a custom setup attached to the first post, where I have adjusted settings to make the car faster and more driveable for all. I hope you enjoy it!

Anyone else going to join us? Rookies, feel free to tag your friends and invite them for some fun in an evening!

A reminder for all racing tonight, you need to be PREMIUM to race so you can be in the Discord voice call, which is Mandatory for tonight. We want to be able to answer any questions you have in real time without having to use the in-game chat if possible.
