Are you new to sim-racing? Is Online Racing a step you haven't braved yet? Do you fear making mistakes or getting other people's way on track? Well guess what, this is the place to banish all of those thoughts and come and join us for a night of exceptional racing and camaraderie where none of those fears will be an issue.

Rookie Nights are aimed at you - the newcomers. New people to sim-racing, or simply people who jump on a server and find themselves seconds off the pace. Or are fed up with disrespectful behaviour on public servers. We want to help, and to give you a place to experience the wonderful joy of racing other sim-racers with the same passion and who give clean and respectful racing the highest priority.

If you have any question on the night about racing on RD or online in general, or about how you are driving or anything else - ASK - by posting in this thread or a PM to the organizer. We are a helpful bunch, and when it comes to getting people up to speed or doing our best to convince you to keep coming back! There is no such thing as a stupid question at these events.

Special features for this rookie event:

  • Non premium members can also sign up
  • The race is with a forgiving car and track combo so you can fully concentrate on driving without having to fight with the car.
  • A good base setup for the Ginetta(the easiest of the 3 cars to handle) will be provided when you sign up.
  • Questions can be asked in this thread and will be answered by the staff member. Or send a PM.
  • The race is hosted and attended by the organizing staff member
    • To monitor the race.
    • To kick participants who deliberate cause incidents (we want clean and respectful racing)
    • To give tips and advice for improvement after the race based on the replay (when asked for).

A message to all Drivers

If you run off track, you must check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Always try to re-enter the track parallel to the racing line. Stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

When joining the track from the pits, remain inside the white line and stay off the racing line until you are up to speed.

During qualification, do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by.

Golden Rule
  1. If you hit somebody, sending them off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in Discord. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member.

Setup attached, copy them to :

Car is quite friendly and stable despite 2 rear wing so some trail braking is needed to keep it turning! You can see this in the reference lap below with pedals app and some telemetry at the end.

Hope they help!

Ginetta? if you are unsure, go for this car. I am fastest in the G55. by quite a margin.
But more importantly, as Brian indicated, by far the most stable and easy to drive. :)
The Maserati seems like a punishment in comparison.:O_o:

+1 for me please. Not sure car at the moment. Might fall back to the Ginetta, but want to give the other two a try first

And is there a new password for the practice server?
