I'm trying to modify the steering wheel texture of a mod's vehicle so that there is a coloured marking at the 12 o'clock position (for personal use).
To this end I extracted the .dds from the MAS file, then painted the marking where I wanted and replaced the .dds in the MAS.
Now I can't see any change in game...
Unless I have altered the wrong .dds - is the process itself correct or are there more steps necessary to replace a texture of a mod vehicle, e. g. having to extract the .gmt as well and apply the .dds in there before repackaging everything into the MAS again?
Edit: ok, I indeed got the wrong texture file. I found the correct one in another .mas file and could swap it so that the new texture is used in the game.
