rFactor 2: The new Competition System is available on the public build

After weeks of beta testing in the release candidate version, the new Competition System of rF2, called rF2 Online, is finally available for all players on the main build of the simulator.

Compared to the old Competition System, this new ranked racing experience offers two ranks:

the Safety Rank, which takes into account cleanliness on the track and correct driving. It starts from Bronze level up to Platinum level, and each level unlocks access to new races
the Driver Rank, which takes into account the results obtained on the track and gives a value to the "strength" of the various drivers, like the iRating. Also in this case we start from the Bronze level up to the Platinum level

In terms of races, the offers are divided into Daily Races and Special Events. The former are divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced, with new levels unlocked by increasing your Safety Rank. Beginner level races will always use free content.

Special Races, on the other hand, are weekly events, longer and more complex than daily races and with a greater impact on your DR and SR. Like the Daily Races, they are equipped with a leaderboard through which it is possible to compare the times recorded in the practice sessions with those of the other drivers.

Another novelty of the new build is represented by the possibility of renting an official server just like in iRacing. This is a less laborious and more "convenient" alternative to the good old dedicated server, which still remains available for all those players who want to have complete control over their private servers.

The rates are as follows:

1 hour: €1
6 hours: €6
12 hours: €9
24 hours: €13

Registration for the new rF2 Online is not mandatory, each player will be able to decide if and when to join the new ranked competition system. All those who register will receive a small incentive as a gift, the BMW M2 CS used in the daily races. Players who do not want to sign up for the new system will still be able to continue enjoying multiplayer on their private servers.

To sign up for the new system, simply go to the "Online" tab in the main menu and follow the instructions from there, and once the email address has been confirmed, the BMW M2 CS will be added to your account. Now that the system is publicly available there is really no reason not to give it a try!

Known Issues – rFactor 2 Online

Having your Windows timezone set to manual instead of “auto” can result in the times for events being incorrect and not being able to join events.
Practice servers are becoming too full too quickly and may give a timeout error – please be patient and try again in a few minutes or practice offline
Some servers (particularly practices) are sometimes experiencing extreme latency (lag) usually when many users join at once. We advise leaving these servers and rejoining.
Not all temporary mod files being deleted on boot – you may need to remove these manually
Some larger circuits (such as Nurburgring), have the server start a few minutes later than expected – you may need to wait up to 4 minutes after a server is due to be started
