Hi all, glad to be here!

Does anyone still use Win98SE?

I do because I use a MS com port wheel, and have just installed rf lite 1255 having uninstalled 1250. Now it will quit every time I click to load the track? It seems as though the screen is changing resolution, and straight back to desktop.
I have tried 3 different DX settings - 7, 8 and 9 (I have always used 7 before).

My system:
PIII 1.7
256MB RAM (low, but has been working ok for 3years)
Nvidia 256MB graphics
Win98SE

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many hanks in advance
Rob

Windows 98 was my favourite OS of all time.. :dance2:

I've not tried rFactor on Windows 98, but on ISI's website it says that it is compatible, as long as it's the SE version. However the system requirements say 512Mb rather than 256 - so maybe that's the problem.

hey man.. you could try starting rF in debug mode and looking at the log - it might give you a clue...

don't have the info to hand this second... but am sure a quick google would sort you out....

I used win98 until 2005 or 06. :)
What you could try, is to change your desktop resolution, color depth and refresh rate to the setting you use in the game and switch vsync on.

Guys, thanks for those. RAM is on order, and will check the debug route too...

The screen res stuff rings a bell when I setup first time round. Will try to tweak it.

Thanks again

Rob
