Chris Elliot of Studio 397 has released a mighty looking new preview image of the upcoming Nordschleife circuit heading to rFactor 2 soon.

We first heard about the plans for rF2 to include one of the most spectacular tracks in motorsport back at the 2018 Sim Racing Expo held at the same venue, and now just over 12 months later it appears as if a release into the public build of the game isn't far away at all.

Having already confirmed at Expo 2019 that development is very far advanced, Chris Elliot has teased the community yet further today, posting a nice new image of the latest version of the track with the tempting "Counting The Days" caption proudly displayed at the foot of the picture - suggesting we maybe don't have too long left to wait until release day is finally upon us.

So, who's looking forward to this one then?

Looking forward to this and will be instabuy for me.
My rig isn't even up and running presently due to parts coming from the UK for my Fanatec gear.
I'll buy it purely on the strength of S397s previous content, Sebring and Le Mans are amazing circuits and, thankfully, I've never sat there looking at trees in a racing sim to care much about that. ;)
All good and take your time S397, just try and get that UI sorted for all those menu lovers... ;)
[Disclaimer: the above is not meant to upset anyone and is said in jest as can be seen by the winky smiley faces at the end of the sentences to add context]

Happy for everyone that’s excited for this, I know that the Nordschleife has many fans. Annoyingly I’m not really one of them, feels more like a rally stage than a race track to me. Not all that excited about the new Raceroom track either so kind of a dry spell for me, and I’m desperate to spend money on some new content :)

Next up for me will be the ACC update followed by AMS 2, so it’s not like there’s nothing to look forward to, so not complaining.

Nordschelife is not a racing track anyway, I'm not sure why people want it so much in sims when it leads to boring races most of the time.

It's hard to describe. I'm a huge fan of the Track and endurance racing in general. I can watch 24h races nonstop, without being bored. When meeting online with friends, we never race on the Nordschleife. It's to long and many inexperienced drivers crash sooner than later. That's not fun, you're right.

As it seems, I'm the only guy who's interested in historical content. My friends hate it because the cars are to hard to drive on the Nords.

I need it for offline use. I love sitting in an overpowered historic car with no grip, battle it through the green hell and trying not to die. I drive the Nordschleife almost every day, since good old GPL days. It's my daily ritual.

I don’t even count the days anymore.
I already gave up on them... when ever I re-install rf2 and tried the new build. I just delete it again. Wasted installation and loading times... nothing else.

AC already satisfied me ages ago with the Nords.

To me it is important that it is made better than AC track. It might not be. However, rf2 has an edge because of its many features. Still expected to see one of the nicest nordschleife in sims... I wonder how yellow flags gonna be

Does the "counting the days" tagline refer to the release of the Nordschleife, or is that a new rF2 general tagline?

Seriously, guys, I'm quite looking forward to the Nordschleife (despite the fact that I can drive it in pretty much any sim), I also quite like rF2 despite its flaws (because it also has quite a few strengths), but honestly, whoever came up with that tagline...it was a pretty bad idea IMO. Both considering the Nordschleife release keeps kinda slipping back (understandable, but still), and considering the general issue with rF2 being at this point pretty much synonymous with "delays" within the substantial part of the community.

Your fans have been counting days for years in some cases. We don't need to be reminded. It just comes off as a weird joke on your part.

(And I know I'm not alone here, because I've already seen quite a few people expressing similar sentiments on the strange choice of the tagline.)

"Always Something Wrong" should be the new tag line for RD Posters :p

I mean seriously, complaining about a tag line.... come on man, grab a beer!

I'm not saying it can be awesome with talented drivers
!
Nords is just over hyped, even most of those prizing the track will rarely drive it as always happens in every sim.
I'm not against the track but I think at this moment, with the competition system coming, it'd be way more useful for rF2 to build 2 to 3 smaller tracks in the time they spent with Nords, same thing for Le Mans, if that could mean 4 to 6 smaller tracks in this time frame it would be way better for everyone, those 2 big tracks could come later.

Common stop whining buddies... you all people could have gone with me in "waterstrike" like i mentioned in another thread... so in my opinion we only get the Nordschleife so soon because of my heroism for not going to toilet since the Announcement on SimRacing Expo... :geek:

It's OK you don't find it important enough to be worth commenting on. I did, for multiple reasons, and most of them are actually positive towards rF2/S397, believe it or not.

Enjoy you beer.

Because it's clear as day not important, it's just a <insert expletive> tag line, dear God will the need to find something wrong never end!?!?
Facepalm... Where's my facepalm?!

Dont talk in that way about the NORDSCHEILFE! I love it like other Germans, too!!! Thank you S397 for realising the best track of the world finally. ;)
