A message to all Drivers

If you run off track, you must check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Always try to re-enter the track parallel to the racing line. Stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

When joining the track from the pits, remain (all 4 wheels) inside the white line and stay off the racing line until you are up to speed.

During qualification, do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by. Caution exiting the pits.

Golden Rule
  1. If you are at fault for a collision, spinning someone or sending them off track, and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for up to 30 days.
  2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, let them retake the position and carry on racing.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a full lift off the throttle pedal.

Penalties

A championship gives us the opportunity to deduct points or add time as a penalty. Below are the penalties for this championship. Please report incidents to the host. That will help to maintain the high standards of driving we are accustomed to in all club events. For multiple unsafe actions within a single reported incident, the time penalties and point deductions are cumulative.

  • Golden Rule: if you break the Golden Rule, all points may be deducted for that race. Normal procedure via formal report and internal discussion within RD staff if there's an disagreement.
  • Unsafe overtake/defending or dive bomb: 5/10/30 second penalties.
  • Track Limits: 5/10/30 second penalties for gaining an advantage outside of tracks limits.
  • Ignoring blue flag: 2 points taken off for each incident.
  • Dangerous Driving: 2+ points may be also deducted for any unsafe actions causing an incident (e.g. unsafe rejoin/unsafe pit exit/swerving on the straight etc.)
  • All reported incidents and penalties to be judged by host (Brian) and co-host (Han) via the usual PM system. Gentlemanly actions, or otherwise, after an incident may effect the final penalty awarded.
See here for a general guide on rules of racing and some examples of incidents that could result in a penalty.

See you on track!

Hi Brian;
Not sure if you need to be signed up for the entire championship in order to participate in these races, but if not, and if you have any drivers drop out and/or if you're looking for cars to fill the grid, I can try to make this one on Sunday (in a 550).

Let me know. Thx!

If it had been the stupid electronics I would have ignored it, but it was reported, so for me it is not the same. I have got a hessian sack that is particularly itchy plus some exstreamly tight fitting shoes, and a large G clamp to flattened headphones to my head further emphasis my punishment.

Hi Dominic. Yep, there is space. I'll add you now in a bit. There are one or two getting the boot, that havn't showed up for a race yet.

Edit
You're in now. Check your inbox for the race/practice server password. See you Sunday

A perhaps somewhat silly question before race day.

Can you somehow get the M tires into the green in terms of temperature? Am I possibly the only one who races with cold blue tires?

I know that sounds stupid.

Yeah the softs don't last long enough and the mediums stay cool.
I've found that a bit of over-turning helps the fronts and putting the Diff to 0-5% and then pushing the throttle a bit in the easier to control corners helps the inside rear tyre.

It's not faster though.. You just get more grip to react to things happening.

Same happens to me with M tires. They never go to green. I guess that’s the way it is.

Excellent! Though I did sign up as a reserve driver for this season since I didn't expect to be able to make all races. Then again, still no new schedule at work so we keep trucking along :D

EDIT: Was going to be back in time after picking up a package but the pickup time has shifted an hour later... I might make it but I fear not! Imagine me like Gandalf at Helms deep if I make it in time ;)

That was an exhausting race. Started well, was able to overtake a car and then the fear of Acque Minerale came right away. I have "loved" this curve since I was a child. And just like back then, I once left her unplanned. That was on the lap after the pit stop, so Thomas was able to overtake me with his pit stop without seeing me. Probably better like this. It would have happened at some point on the track anyway. Richard must have had an internet problem when he disappeared in front of me. As a result, fifth place instead of sixth for me.

Congrats on the podium, great event as always!

Yes was having a great race with you and Laurent until my Internet dropped out, yet again. Really need to find the source of this problem and get it fixed! Will be checking the router and modem logs today to see what I can discover.
