I don't understand why they are cutting the chicane like that?!
I didn't know it was allowed (at 33:40 for example)

The commentators took note of it, implying that it was (a) unusual and (b) maybe worthy of a penalty. Maybe it was a one-off thing? I only looked at that timestamp, not multiple laps.
