PC1 Project Cars: Final car list revealed

Project Cars Full Car LIst.JPG

Slightly Mad Studios has published the final car list for their upcoming multi-platform racing game Project Cars.

You can find the full list right below, and as you can see it's got quite a bit of everything. I'm sure everybody will find a car to their tastes, since there's road cars, super cars, karts, GTs, prototypes and single-seaters in the mix.

Looks like the lights are finally becoming green for Project Cars after a couple of delays and some uncertainties: the game will be out on "midnight May 7th" and the preload is already available for Xbox One users.

The official webpage, interestingly, adds some question marks to the list, labeled as "coming soon". No idea about what that could mean - secret cars? Or maybe some manufacturers haven't been licensed yet?

Also, it should be noted that the press release says that the game will "expand and go deeper with this community-focused list after launch".

Which is missing the point, but that's an important part of making zero headway in conversations.

I'm not missing the point. Reiza Studios choose the same path as SimBin did a few years ago with releasing the entire platform more than once. There is no reason, not even licensing, they couldn't release everything on the exact same platform. This is a form of DLC whether you personally consider it that way or not. iRacing, AC, RaceRoom, etc are all releasing new content licenses on the same platform.

The simple fact is that we see things differently, and no amount of "internet conversation" is going to change that. It's better to move on as the conversation isn't productive and is not going to provide any useful outcomes (i.e. DLC is here today, and will likely be here tomorrow). SMS has chosen to keep their project alive with DLC for the coming future and this discussion will not have any impact on their current choice (especially since I do not work for SMS).

If you don't believe in or like DLC, skip Project CARS. rF2 and others will have plenty of mod support and most of that will stay free for a while until a full commerce system is established which doesn't require merchant accounts and such for mod makers.

DLC's are good since they can keep working for years and giving New quality content for us.

Day 1 DLC is a kick in the balls since its content they could have included in the released version And they dont do it to take even more money from You.

So DLC yes
Day 1 DLC no
No DLC games yes
DLC in different forms (same platform for example) yes if the product released is good.

In conclussion, developers have to pay their bills. a DLC of 10-15€ for ours of enjoyment is not expensive if its quality content And variety. And Day 1 DLC is a piece of sh*t.

I never could understand this argument, and my counter argument has been mentioned many times.
Couple of examples: I can purchase a Dish network subscription, a satellite TV service for those that don't know, for $29.95/102 channels, but for $39.95 Dish would give me 200 channels, and so on. ALL channels are available the day I signup (Day One content). Why should Dish be obligated to provide 200 available channels for $29.95?
Another: Microsoft Office Home and Business Edittion for $219.99, but if you want more software functionality (content) the Pro version is $399.99 - all functionality is available DAY ONE of my purchase.
Any company selling anything includes what they feel is a value for x amount of money. The consumer may not think so but they have the choice of buying or not. This relates to most everything a consumer purchases, why should gaming software content be any different? It doesn't matter when the content is "available", the company sells their intellectual property to pay their bills and payroll. What's not to get

I like your argument. In this case with the various delays of release I think they shouldn't do that. But yes you are right, I can see your point of view.

After purchasing iRacing a few weeks back i think every DLC-pack is a bang for the buck compare to that. First i paid 50$ for one year access and a very few mostly lame cars and tracks. The second year costs 90$ without new content. After finishing the rookie-class (only one lame car to drive) i wanted something faster, but you have to pay even for testing a car. I bought this Skip Barber (open wheeler must be fun i thought) and a few tracks for 70$ just to find out that i hate this car. It´s awful slow but more pettish at the edge than every F1-car in AC without this awesome FFB. And for any other class i have to pay more additional tracks (mostly 16$ each) and cars (12$ each).

So back to AC online. No ranking system, no penalties for wreckers, not even proper racing results but so much more fun and feeling for the car. And hopefully pCars will be even as good as or better in multiplayer. This "Driver Network" seems to have a few important features inherited from iRacing.

Hmmmm.... the game doesn't stop working if one opts out of purchasing DLC.... or does it? DLC releases (and purchases by diehard users), helps keep the company alive while they work on the next version of their product. From what I can see, pCARS is a fairly complete package with the release. Where other games/sims that offer DLC are incomplete unless one continues to pony up to the DLC bar.
