The GT Legends Workshop team have released a substantial update to the legendary Power & Glory mod for GTR2.

Following a break of several years, a now considerably reduced GTLW team have been hard at work further refining and improving on this classic release, introducing a number of fixes to long standing issues and heavily improved physics to the Ford GT40 and Porsche 906 cars in game.

New users can directly install version 3.2 from scratch (assuming a vanilla install of GTR2 is installed) or updating from the previous version can be achieved via an updater.

Are you planning to try this new update to P&G? What's you favourite car combination to race in game? Leave your comments below!

Downloaded, raced and win (vs AI)!!!
I don't know if this is "muscular memory" or else, but gtr2 and mods are the ones where I am still good.
A blast, should be a standalone game!!!

Power & Glory Updater from 3.1 to 3.2

What you will need:

* Power&Glory v3.1 already installed

* 1 file: PnGv3.2_updater.exeHow to start installing:

Just run PnGv3.2_updater.exe

Download Power&Glory v3.2 Updater

1st mirror by DrivingItalia.net - NB this site needs registration but will give you access to many other mods and tracks

Power&Glory v3.2 updater download

2nd mirror by FileHosting.org - NB this site requires you to submit an e-mail address

PnGv3.2_Updater.exe

3rd mirror by MEGA - NB simultaneous connections and bandwidth are limited

PnGv3.2_Updater.exe

Power&Glory v3.2 Complete Installer

What you will need:

* A GTR2 installation. Either v1.0 or v1.1 (the P&G installer updates to 1.1). A clean install is ideal.
* 4 files:
PnGv3.2_installer.exe
PnGv3.2.001
PnGv3.2.002
PnGv3.2.003

- Please pay attention to the names of the files, numbered data file names are critical. No extra "[1]" or anything added anywhere in the file names.
- All the files should reside in the same folder.
- You DON'T need to UNPACK any of these.
- When installed in a clean copy of GTR2 using option #2 - the installation size is approximately 4.2 GB

How to start installing:

Just run PnGv3.2_installer.exe

Notes on the installing process itself:

The install process is straight forward except after a install type selection: "Please select the desired install type:"

We have 2 choices here to select from.

The differences between #1 and #2:

#1 uses an existing GTR2 installation to copy needed files from to a new PnG folder. Copy process will do CRC checking for some of the critical files to ensure that the resulting PnG folder will contain only correct file versions. The GTR2 installation will remain intact, no files will be changed there.
#2 will remove all unnecessary files from the given GTR2 path and add PnG files over them. There will be no CRC checking for the remaining GTR2 files. Naturally this GTR2 installation will not remain intact as it is converted to a full PnG installation.

Both #1 and #2 will copy/save your player profiles to the new PnG installation (if the source has profiles).

"Destination folder" (with both #1 and #2)
This is the path where your PnG will reside in the end. Note that in #2 this folder should have your preinstalled GTR2 in it to be converted.

"Source folder for GTR2 files" (only with #1)
This should point to a folder where you have a clean GTR2 installation, either version 1.0 or 1.1. The GTR2 files in there will not be modified.

In a popup window: "Would you like your player profiles copied from the GTR2 installation?" (only with #1)
If you answer "No" the installer will not even try to copy your player profiles to the PnG installation.**Then when you start PnG the first time you will need to create a new profile for it to use.

Download Power&Glory v3.2 Complete

Run the installer and follow the instructions carefully.
We*STRONGLY RECOMMEND*installing on a clean GTR2 install (any version as the mod includes all patches) using options 1 and 2 for online stability.

1st mirror by DF-Racing - no registration required

Power&Glory v3.2 downloads

2nd mirror by DrivingItalia.net
- NB this site needs registration but will give you access to many other mods and tracks

Power&Glory v3.2 download

3rd mirror by MEGA - NB simultaneous connections and bandwith are limited

PnGv3.2_installer.exe
PnGv3.2.001
PnGv3.2.002
PnGv3.2.003

Trouble Shooting - If you experience problems with the complete installation you can check the integrity of the downloaded files using this file checker

Downloaded. It's a BEAST! Twice as large as the 3.1 version.

Some third-party GTR2 tracks use the material name "black" which we also use on every car and it caused graphical issues. With hindsight it might have been simpler to bundle fixes for these tracks with the mod but instead one of our team - Unseen - went through every car changing the material name and the end result of a lot of work is a big download.

well, I hope at some point they move to a more modern game, like rF2, AC or AMS.

Two key members of the team have left to work for Kunos so in a sense they have followed your suggestion :)

We have no plans to move to a more modern platform for several reasons:
- At the core of the mod are the car models from GT Legends. We would not be comfortable using these on a non Simbin platform and a couple of years ago Simbin made it clear they were no longer comfortable with it either.
- While we have improved many of the models, I don't think they meet current graphical standards.
- The team is now very small and don't have the time or resources to transfer the mod to another platform.
- Although its approaching its tenth birthday, GTR2 is still pretty feature-rich with day/night transitions, weather, dynamic track rubbering, animated pitcrew, track marshals and driver arms, in-race game saving etc etc.

If ISI, Kunos or Reiza significantly expand their range of 60s and 70s tin-tops in the future and are happy for them to be modded then who knows :)

Hai,
i put the files on my Fileserver, no limits...i placed your post from nogrip as a first_readme.txt in to the folder..
http://df-racing.ddns.net:60471/DF-Racing/PnG/PnGv3.2/
THX for your great work!
i hope this is ok, if not, please let me know it and i remove the files...
regards
Alex

That is fine - thank you!!!

We half expected bandwidth issues with the downloads but actually the problem is with the GTLW website. I used a large image in the index page and this combined with high traffic and a low bandwidth from my ISP has resulted in the problem.

I will add your link to the list of mirrors now posted on several forums. It is much appreciated.

any tips for my wheel settings/ffb etc on t300rs ??? can't get a good feeling at all

Hopefully some one with a T300 will reply, but as a G25 owner I can only give a few pointers.

ffb1.jpg

In the FORCE section of the CONTROLLER menu the Thrustmaster RGT might seem the most appropriate choice. It uses reverse effects (see box ticked) like the Logitech products. If the T300 doesn't use reversed effects (your FFB will feel the opposite of what you expect) you need to untick that box.

The other option to choose is FORCE FEEDBACK EFFECTS. Note this isn't strength which is controlled by a separate slider, but what effects are added to FFB. At a LOW setting, FFB is purely down to grip and bumps. At MEDIUM a canned effect is added to make curbs vibrate more. At HIGH and FULL engine vibration and brake vibration are added to the wheel - I forget in which order. I recommend a LOW setting or MEDIUM if you really like strong kerb vibration.

If you launch the mod through the supplied Launcher, there is green button on it labelled PLAYER. Press this to patch your player file with our mod-specific force feedback settings.

I think the T300 has 1080 degrees of lock. Setting it to 900 degrees might be better for most of the cars in the mod. We recommend 745 degrees for the Porsche 906 and 810 degrees for the Ford GT MkII.

Always one and the same question when I see vintage cars, but I really like realism and to be competitive online, because I do not drive racing games offline. Is there weight penalty for the cars or maybe slower shifting if manual clutch and H shifter are not used? Thanks for good work anyway, I haven´t race PnG since 2.0 release, but this Cortina calls me back again
