These 'about me' threads get way more complicated as I get older but i'll keep it brief
I'm Darren, late 40's from the UK. A design engineer, 3D modeller and OG sim racer for erm....about as long it's possible really.
I've been heavily involved in most aspects of sim racing throughout the years. There's too much to tell in a thread like this but sim racing has been a hugely significant part of my life. I've learned and contributed a lot over this time, and much more importantly I've had some amazing times and made lifelong friends.
Real life stuff means my racing is more casual and my sim-life balance more well erm...balanced these days. Not sure if/when that will change but it keeps my long suffering sim-widow happy and it's much more relaxing not obsessing about tyre pressures or the optimal time to take a pee break (the window for which is increasingly smaller these days )
Other main hobbies include retro gaming and most things electronic or engineering based. Also a keen cyclist for even longer than I've been racing.
Huge respect for the guys here at RD. I know first hand the colossal amount of time and effort it takes to keep a community like this going. It's great to be here.
