Turns out, the Pessio Garage's adorable RD1 'Porknose' is ideally suited to the fabled 'Brickyard.' Who knew? Its best lap (with yr. obt. svt. behind the wheel) was about on par with Mario Andretti's record pole speed of 169.9 mph in qualifying for the 1967 Indy 500. This is a 20-lap race setup (a ten-lapper seemed stingy), and over that distance there will definitely be some tire degradation (about a half-sec per lap slower at the end of that run), so some tire-management skills are called for. The tires run hot, so in either an AI or an online race, you might want to keep the ambient temp in the polar range. At aa's version of IMS, the AIs are reasonably well-behaved, but exhibit some odd behaviors (slow where you're fast and v.v.). Looking forward to some great drafting battles. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!
