the Ferrari F250 Concept, designed by Idries Omar. Starting from all the rumors going around lately about a possible baby Ferrari, he designed this modern looking Ferrari, at the same time trying to keep the Italian legacy. Being a mid-engine rear wheel drive, Idries Omar was able to give the car a really aggressive stance. Originally, the car was meant to be an interpretation of the Ferrari Dino, but the designer named it Ferrari F250, from the legendary 250 GTO. As for the engine, the designer suggested 2.5L V6 engine (250) that runs on bio-fuel

Apparently Renault is looking to revive the Renault Alpine Interlagos, but two Brazilian designers, Joao Paulo Cunha Melo and Felipe Guimaraes Coelho already came up with a project for a new Alpine. The original Alpine was built in Brazil, in 1964, under license, by Willys-Overland and it was based on the Renault Alpine 108. The “Interlagos” title came form the name of the famous Brazilian race track.

The new Renault Alpine Interlagos is also designed to be a low cost sports car, because all the parts used for it are produced or already available in Brazil. It will use a 2.0 liter engine from the Renault Megane, which develops 142hp and 190Nm of torque, mated to a six speed manual transmission and it will have rear wheel drive.

If the two Brazilian designers will be able to get financing for getting through with this project, they plan even extending and selling the Alpine Interlagos to other countries, even to Europe.

Russian Porsche Cayenne

The legend says that at the beginning there was a Porsche Cayenne, who, by definition, is not the prettiest car around.
And then there were Russians, crazy Russians.
Who also created the Hippie Porsche Cayenne and who decided to create this thing.
Don’t know what they were thinking, but here’s the…uhm… Russian Yellow Weird Looking Porsche Cayenne.

Morgan LIFECar

the Morgan LIFECar will officially pe unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, which starts March 4. The LIFECar is one amazing vehicle, which, if it’ll go into production, will definitely have our respect. Now, closer to its debut, a lot of photos showed up on the Internet, which show the LIFECar as a classy coupe, keeping Morgan heritage.

But what’ really awesome are the technologies used to power this car. In cooperation with QinetiQ, Cranfield and Oxford universities, BOC and OSCar, Morgan managed to create an ultra quiet, hydrogen powered car, whos exhaust system will produce only water vapour thanks to its fuel cell converting hydrogen into electricity. The total cost of the project will be £ 1.9 million but we sure think it’ll worth it.

Skoda Fabia S2000

Not one of our favourite cars out there, it looks like the Skoda Fabia is going to get a new, more aggressive, brother. We’re talking about the Skoda Fabia S2000, which currently is in prototype stage and is being tested before starting competing in the Super 2000 competition. The car, based on the current generation Skoda Fabia, complies with FIA regulations and is powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed sequential transmission and it also features four-wheel drive system with three mechanical differentials.

Dr. Eckhard Scholz, Skoda Auto BOD Member responsible for technological development, said: “We are glad to have started testing the Fabia Super 2000. This year we are planning to optimise and certify the vehicle so that we can use it on both national and international levels. When exactly will the vehicle be released for competition use will depend on the achieved progress, relevant test results and the final certification. Then we are also planning to offer the vehicle to private teams. Based on a customer service arrangement, further development work on the vehicle will be done in close cooperation with our importers worldwide“.

Rinspeed sQuba Concept

The sQuba was the dream of Frank M. Rinderknecht, Rinspeed’s boss and was developed in partnership with Swiss engineering specialist Esoro. First, the combustion engine was removed and replaced by three electric motors, which are located in the rear and are powered by rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries. One engine provides propulsion on land, while the other two are used for underwater ‘driving’. Besides these three engine, the Rinspeed sQuba also has two Seabob jet drives in the front, which ?breathe? through special rotating louvers from HS Genion.

The Rinspeed sQuba Concept is 3.79 m long, 1.94 m wide and 1.12 m tall, with a wheelbase of 2,30 m. The electric engine produces 54 kW (73 hp) at 4,500 rpm and a torque of 160 Nm at 1,500 rpm and it accelerates the car from 0 to 80 km/h (50 mph) in 7.1 seconds and to a top speed of 120 km/h (not much, but it’s the legal speed limit in most countries). The car weights about 920 kg and so far we don’t have any details on its autonomy.

Abarth 500 new style

With its debut scheduled for the Geneva Motor Show, the Fiat 500 Abarth is no longer a surprise, because here are leaked photos of the “angry” small Italian car. Besides large wheel arches that house big wheels, wide air intakes, rear air diffuser, double exhaust pipes, red caps for the external rear mirrors and Abarth badges all over the car.

There are also rumors that Fiat will present two versions, the Fiat 500 Abarth and Abarth SS, the latter having an even more powerful engine. But just rumors so far, guess we’ll have more details in a couple or days or else we’ll have more at the car’s debut at Geneva.

Alfa 8C Spider

There are less than two weeks left before the Geneva Motor Show but it seems that Alfo doesn’t want to wait no more, so they’ve officially unveiled the new Alfo Romeo 8C Spider, the convertible version of the Alfa 8C Competizione. Designed by Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, it sure is gorgeous and we can’t wait to feast our eyes on this beautiful Italian cabrio, at the Swiss show, where we’ll be present to report live.

alfa_03.jpg

The Alfa 8C Spider, like its coupe brother, will only be produced in 500 units and its very similar with the Competizione, expect for the hooded top fitted with electro-hydraulic automatic control, which is composed of two overlapping sheets: the external one is made with a multi-thread textile which can withstand the elements, whilst the interior has high sound-proofing qualities.

alfa_01.jpg

The 8C Spider will be powered by the same 4.7 liter V8 engine, developing 450 hp at 7000?rpm and 480 Nm (354 ft-lb) at 4750?rpm and mated to a 5 speed gearbox. The coupe version accelerates from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and top speed is 181 mph (292 km/h !! ) but we expect the convertible version to be slightly slower.

Citroën C2-R2 Max

X_9892_1.jpg

Citroen has unveiled its C2-R2 MAX homologation package, a move that's not just good news for anyone who's all about race-bred hot-hatches. The car also confirms Citroen's intent to compete in the FIA Junior World Rally Championship in 2008. The C2-R2 MAX is scheduled to be homologated by the FIA on March 1, and will be available as a kit through Citroen Sport.

The C2-R2 MAX fits in between the C2 Super 1600 and C2-R2, offering a performance boost at a more affordable price for rallyists. Changes over the C2-R2 include a 190 horsepower 1599cc engine and brakes, a revised suspension with a wider track and an adjustable rear, and hydraulic steering. Citroen says the upgrades will enable the car to dominate its class as well as challenging cars from higher classes.

To drive the C2-R2 MAX's abilities home, Citroen let 2007 European Rally champion Simon Jean-Joseph and FIA Junior WRC rookie Sébastien Ogier put the cars through their paces at Satory’s Val d’Or circuit. Both drivers will be campaigning Citroen C2s in the FIA Junior World Rally Championship for 2008

Chevy Corvette concept

Ugur Sahin Design is definitely one of the coolest design studios out there, the Audi Locus Concept being a proof of that. And here is the Dutch company’s latest work, the Corvette Z03 Concept. They’ve created this concept starting from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, but it’s almost a new car, because every part of the car has been redesigned.

And what’s more interesting is that these are not just some renderings, because the company plans on producing a limited run of 100 units, which will be available with a modified version of the LS7 V8 turbocharged engine, that can deliver up to 750 hp. The Corvette Z03 Concept is scheduled to go into production by the end of this year and, even though we’re skeptical, we really hope to see this car on the streets some day.
