George has been disqualified for being underweight.
I did not state George won and then got disqualified. Thanks for spilling that when others had yet to watch it
Yeah, but you could have left any info out of the title, that's all I'm saying. Never mind.I did not state George won and then got disqualified.
As far as other knew, he simply got disqualified.
If they hadn't yet watched it then it made no difference as they did not know where he placed.
It was a team mistake... in that George decided that being in front of Lewis was a good place to be and pitting (as the team plan was, a two stop with the cars weighed for that scenario) would cause him to lose the lead, so as his tyres were OK he decided to tell the team that he could go to the end, the team weren't thinking straight (probably because they were suddenly faced with an unbelievable One-Two) and they agreed, then in the closing stages Lewis caught Georgie boy and Toto was likely informed that the unplanned tyre wear on George's car might drop him onto the naughty step, this possibly explains Toto's blank face as that cars crossed the line in formation (he knew before hand that it was a wrong un, but by then it was too late)This is team mistake. You way driver and then car on empty tanks. Add them together and have to put lead weight in car to get it to a regulated weight. The lightest the car can be at end of the race on low fuel tanks. In the old days taller drivers like Alex Wurz and Gerhard Berger where at a disadvantage due to being tall and in Bergers case he had a large frame. This means they are heaver and less aerodynamic as it is harder to squeeze them into cars, the seat has to tilted and they have to be squashed in as low as possible as the helmet has to be below a line from the roll hoop to a nose fin. (In case they land upside down) Berger would have bandages on his hands like a boxer as he grazed his hands to bleed in the car. This is why in general F1 drivers are short and skinny. Like a Mario Andretti or Jackie Stewart. Nice and small and easy to fit into a tight cockpit. But Yes Laondo should not be punished for a error in team organization. We don't know if it was planed or a lack of organization from team. But rules are rules.
