New to Sim Racing... Want to hear your top tips you wish you knew when you started :)

Hey guys. I have recently fallen deeply down the rabbit hole of sim racing and I'm struggling with a few things. First, I would really like to find a place that doesn't kill the bank but has similar standards to iRacing.

Also, I love assetto but I am struggling with the insane amount of settings in content manager. Is there a way someone could possibly share their base settings? I have really been struggling with consistent FFB especially (thrustmaster TS-XW).

Any help would be appreciated.
