"2020 Season 3: Leep Season!
You’ve heard of a leap year, but what about a leap season? Because of how the calendar falls for 2020 Season 3, you’ll have an entire extra week of racing as part of your quest for the championship—and what better way to break in all of the new content being released at the beginning of June!
Instead of the normal 12 weeks of points-paying racing for most series plus a Week 13 for fun, these series will have 13 points-paying weeks. Series that normally award points for all 13 weeks of a season will count points for all 14 weeks in 2020 Season 3. Week 14 at the beginning of September will be our next build week, and will introduce the one-week series you all know and love, from Simkhana to Tubeframe Twister and everything in between.
Stay tuned for 2020 Season 3 schedules and be sure to mark those calendars to run an extra week!"
This is beacuse each year has a day too many (each leap year having two), so every six years you need to have a leap season to catch up again. They did this before. You will need to run nine weeks for participation credit instead of the usual eight.
