New AI fastlane for Kyalami 1992 v1.0 - Faster AI fastlane for the Kyalami 1992 track from ASR and Shin956.

These files have to be used for the Kyalami 1992 track from ASR and Shin956.

This package is generated to work on the F1 cars of the 1990's. The fastlane is not generated to be the fastest, but to enable a consistent race without too many errors on the part of the AI. It avoids pit exit collisions, minimizes erratic behavior during overtakes and still provides a fast pace.

You can see below a comparison of pole position times between the original file and the new one for some mods:

Sorry for being long to answer you.

1 - Once you have downloaded the files from racedepartment, extract them anywhere you are able to find them easily.



2 - Then, you have to identify where AC is installed on your computer.

If you ‘ve installed it with steam, you should find it somewhere like the following path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\

Once you found this folder, go to : content\tracks\

where you can find all the track files you ‘ve previously installed .


3 - Regarding the Kyalami track, you should have installed the track and find a file named :

asr_owc_1992_round_01\

Open this folder, you should then find at least two folders in : ai and data.

4 - In the ai folder, rename the existing “fast_lane.ai” file as “fast_lane.ai_bkup” or fast_lane_bkup.ai” or anything else, the important thing is to change the name whole name “fast_lane.ai”.

Do the same with the “pit_lane.ai” file.

Then copy the new “fast_lane.ai” and “pit_lane.ai” files you ‘ve downloaded from race department and paste them into the asr_owc_1992_round_01\ai folder.

5 - Once it’s made, go to the asr_owc_1992_round_01\data folder and then backup the ai_hint.ini, side_l.csv and side_r.csv files by renaming them, for example as ai_hint_bkup.ini, side_l_bkup.csv and side_r_bkup.csv.

Then copy the new ”ai_hint.ini”, “side_l.csv” and “side_r.csv” files you’ve downloaded from racedepartment and paste them into the the asr_owc_1992_round_01\data folder.



6 - Once you did that, the first time you want to use this track, right after clicking on the GO button to launch the track, hold down Shift on your keyboard during the track and cars loading. You can release the keyboard button once you see your car in the pitlane.
