need help installing tracks

unzipped the files and placed them into the locations folder for rfactor. when in the game I select the track then get an error mentioning MAS, please help.

A MAS file, just in case you are not aware is a compressed file with the track resources in it. It is looking for a specific file to load those resources and can't find it.

Open the scn file for the track with notepad, at the top will be pointers to the MAS files it needs, and the paths where it is expecting to find them. Example, chosen at random:

SearchPath=MontTremblant09
SearchPath=MontTremblant09\MontTremblantGP09

MASFile=MontTremblant.MAS
MASFile=MontTremblantMaps.MAS
MASFile=commonmaps.mas

thanks, I am a novice and was trying my best but it seems I do not have the knowledge as to how this works. I tried watching a video on youtube but am no further ahead yet.

Post a link to the track you are trying to use. Some of them have an odd file structure.
