Could be helpful for avoiding stuff like the Aviano oval fiasco

Maybe the car/track isn't the only thing stopping people joining. I have to admit that the netcode issues started to become annoying and that is the reason I haven't joined a NK club event for a few weeks. I hear a patch is on the horizon, so hopefully I'll be joining again soon.

Good idea to find out what people like though, maybe it could be incorporated into the events in the future. Something along the lines of:-

Hold the club races on Wednesdays as normal.
After the event finishes start a poll for the following weeks race.
Give a choice of 3 cars and 3 tracks.
Close the poll Midnight Friday, and open up a sign up thread.

Maybe a little hard to do with the time constraints, but it was just an idea.
Sorry to hijack your thread Paul.

For me.
Cars in order.
1. Formula 1800
2. Shelby Cobra
3. Abarth/Formula 1600
4. Formula 2000
5. KS2
6. Osella
7. Formula Target

Tracks: (random order)
Spa, Laguna Seca, Suzuka, Brands Hatch, Nordschleife and Bathurst (maybe coming?), Doningtons, Silverstone, Monza, Melbourne, Dijon, and so on and so on
theres so many =)

Cars

Formula KS2
FTarget
FF1800
FF1600

Tracks

Monza
Spa-Francorchamps 2010
Suzuka
Silverstone
Imola
Monaco

Those would be my cars of preference from most favourite to least favourite. FF1600 is a nice car but I want something to make me fear putting down my right foot :). In regards to tracks, all the tracks I listed would be equally favourite, although I do enjoy the faster, flowing circuits like Spa, Suzuka, Imola and Silverstone. Monza is a great track for racing I think (fast straights, slow-medium speed corners). Monaco, well, I guess one would just need pure speed to qualify highly and stay there :)

Cars : Well this is the problem...there isn't any normal car so everybody that is not into open wheelers ....tough luck...
Actually the fiat abbarth is a lot of fun for a small ff car and the vintage is also quite fun as it is fr.But i would prefer a dozen normal cars...
I mean you don't have to have 1000 cars like in grand turismo or have 100 possible mods for each car...Just make a dozen high quality nicely modeled and detailed normal cars.
You can have a classic range for example a few ff cars like a integra type-r,a golf or a scirrocco ,a honda civic type-r or a crx ,a punto along the abbarth...and an alfa spider or something similar.

For fr cars you can have a rx7,a supra,a silvia s14a or 180sx or s15 ,a corvette,a nsx,a e30/e36/e46 m3,a mx5 etc..

for mr you can have a 911/boxster/cayman,a mr2/mrs,maybe a ferrari 355/512/348/308/288gto etc...

And for awd you can have a evo,a wrx a skyline r33/34 gtr,a audi s4,

And for tracks there are some nice tracks but their quality is not as good as the default tracks...So i hope either more tracks get updated or more high quality are released..

I never was an open wheeler fan, but F1600 and 800 have become one of my overall favourite cars. And now the Vintage... Sim racing porn

Anyway, I agree, who wouldn't, that some tin-tops would be a good idea, and would bring more people in. A V8 supercar would make me ecstatic, I wouldn't need anything else :D

I never really understand this call for more everyday cars - there are so many games catering to every type of driving preference out there at the mo, that even Rfactor, with its millions of options is almost too much. I have some of the greatest mods ever made on my comp and I never drive them anymore as there is always something new coming to usurp them. netkar is remarkable in that the few cars it does have are so well realized, and so particular to drive that it forces you to concentrate on their qualities rather than the the game's lack of quantity. Maybe a good touring car like a V8 or GT would be welcome, but really, not too many more are needed i reckon.

I must say I do agree with you Daniel, I feel that nKP is really only lacking a late model touring car hence my call for a BMW GTR M2 or similar, as long as its late model and V8,

We're a little :offtopic: here too :sorry:

Maybe a new thread on the subject is required? :chat:

... and that's why :D

Yup, like I said, one touring car, and I'd be happy :)

Well the thing...is that open wheelers are like day and night compared to normal everyday cars. They sound differently, the feel and are incredibly light with very little weight transfer, the faster ones are simply too fast and i am not particurarly attracted to any of them...And basically all are fr.
Everyday cars are an altogether different matter. They are much heavier, every one sounds differently, weight transfer matter a lot and driving with the cockpit of a car you love, have or have driven is a different familiar feel then driving a run of the mill open wheeler. And also each have their different driving style based if the car is front wheel drive, rear wheel drive ,4 wheel drive, all wheel drive or real wheel drive with a engine in the middle or the back....

And as Kunos has very few people to help him in his team i don't ask a trillion cars like other games do.Just a nice selection of the main types of cars to satisfy most people. As i said before a dozen cars(and eventually a few more) ,but done with the quality of the existing cars would be enough to bring a huge amount of people to netkar.

I mean for god's shake this thread is supposed to be for people expressing their favourite cars but...when there is not one i really love or can describe as a normal car then something is missing.I mean the abbarth is fantastically modelled but it is the car i would probably never choose in another game if i had other cars to choose. The vintage fares much better in my book as i love classic cars, but its not simply the car i would choose if i had some wider selection of classic cars to choose (for example an alpha julia gta,an alpha sud,a alpha 75,a lancia beta,a lancia delta,a 037b,a e30 m3 evo,a 190 cosworth, the road version of an audi quattro,a porsche 911 with pop up lights(moby dick),a 959,a 944 s2 turbo,a xjs jag,a cobra,a 288 gto,a 308qv,a 328/348,a 512,a 355,a countach,a miura,a maserati biturbo (222),a maserati merak,a uracco lambo,a 2002ti bmw etc...
