Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

PLEASE READ ALSO THE 3rd POST IN THIS THREAD!

After the succesful experiment with a short circuit on the Red Bull Ring and your feedback to do that more often, we're now going to Barbagallo, Australia. It's only 2,4km long, quite easy to learn and with straight long enough for overtakes. So join us for a laid back event on a summernight in a land that's been known for her relaxed inhabitants.

Especially the new and inexperienced drivers are recommended to participate. There are a lot of learning opportunities like overtaking and blue flag situations but without the intensity and stress of the GT3/4 cars or the endurance multiclass cars. It's also good step up for those kind of events.

THE GT4 EVENT ON SUNDAY WILL ALSO TAKE PLACE HERE ON THIS TRACK!
By joining here you can learn the racelines, overtake spots and even the brakepoints of the track in a car that's less demanding than the GT4 and have a lot of fun at the same time.

Server information:
  • Practice Server: #04 (Available throughout the race week)
  • Race server: S.GP
  • 20:00 CEST, 19:00 DST (18:00 UTC) | 1 hour 15 minutes - Official Practice
  • 21:20 CEST, 20:20 DST (19:20 UTC) | 20 minutes - Qualification (10 min TT, 10 min MX5)
  • 21:40 CEST, 20:40 DST (19:40 UTC) | 40 minutes - Race
IMPORTANT:
  • Qualify is split (not forced, gentleman's agreement). First 10min for the Audi's, second 10min for the MAZDA's. Don't go on track in the window of the other car class.
  • Blue Flags: If an MX5 driver gets a Blue Flag from a TT, he has to stay on the racing line to be predictable. You can help the TT by lifting on the straight, but you don't have to! The TT driver is responsible for a safe overtake. Losing time doing this is part of the game and applies to any TT. If you receive a blue flag from your own class, the normal rules apply.

Event details:
  • Cars: Audi TT Cup/Mazda MX5 Cup
  • Track: Barbagallo, Australia
  • Pit stop: optional
  • Track Temps: 19C air/27C track
  • Track Condition: Clear
  • Damage: 10%

A message to all Drivers,

If you run off track, you have to check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.

When entering the track from the pits, stay off the racing line until you are up to speed. Do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by. On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

Golden Rule
  1. If you hit somebody off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in Discord. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium

Guys,

I need your help one more time. Based on the feedback I've received from my experimental events, many of you would like to have some other events in addition to the Wednesday multiclass.

I want to know on which day of the week you prefer to have a second event organized by me because the more the better applies here.

So post here which day(s) you are considering participating in these other events.

Thanks!
Han

Woo, a track I raced with the Audi in the rookies. Short track so going to be interesting with the 2 cars again.

Now to choose which car...probably the Mazda since I raced the Audi last time.
Douglas, did you read the 3rd post? I need help.

Hmmm, my main focus is the Wednesday race at the moment. I'm still learning so I need as many practice laps to get up to pace, to be semi competitive, as I can.

A Friday or Saturday evening would be doable, short race preferred, maybe with just the Mazdas. Or another car class.

I will try to fit around whatever you decide and give it a go.

I'm in with the Audi again Han.

Like Douglas, finding the time to practice is hard sometimes especially with the GT race on Sunday adding to the calendar. But if the track is not revealed until 15 minutes before the event then practice doesn't really matter so any day is good for me, I will try to fit in when I can.

I'm in with the MX5. The nights of the week I will just try and accommodate what you choose Han, my ability to have the time is dependent on work and family allowing it so no one weekday is better than another for me in that respect.

Signed up with my trustworthy purple Mazda

If i have to pick an evening then is monday the most likely, perhaps friday.

I kinda have the same as everyone, depends on not having other appointments, especially in the weekends.

And for some more fun:

The practice server is set to 19 air / 27 road, is that correct?
Yes, it's winter in Australia now :p . The s.gp server is configured with these temperatures.
I'm using realistic temperatures. Found this for Barbagallo.

Temperature

Throughout the month of July daytime temperatures will generally reach highs of around 18°C

That's fine. Barbagallo track has all kinds of graphic anomolies for me, that's why I deleted it. I will skip this one. Good luck everyone!
