Mugen Civic Type R Hatchback

Mugen seem to think they can take on the king of hot hatches, the Focus RS with a 260bhp version of Honda's Civic Type R.

First up the looks have been beefed up with a deep, ankle-chopping front splitter, triangular bonnet vents, all-new front wings incorporating air outlets behind the front wheels, a mahooosive rear wing just to make that rear visibility even worse and a wide diffuser which houses a pair of fat exhaust pipes. Subaru Impreza drivers will love it.

There are no exact performance stats but if the Japanese-spec Mugen Type RR is anything to go by we’re expecting uprated suspension, a limited-slip differential and around 240bhp from the rev-tastic 2-litre V-Tec engine.

No word on price or on sale date yet but it is heading to the UK and we can’t wait to find out if Mugen has worked its magic on the CTR.

Personally I dont think this will come anywhere near the Focus but still nice none the less.
