The latest official MotoGP videogame from Milestone has been announced - introducing... MotoGP '19.

Revealed by way of a very, very slick new trailer, MotoGP 19 is the latest in a long running series of official MotoGP games from the prolific Italian developer studio, and replicates the 2019 edition of the top level of international bike racing.

Having gone through something of a upturn in fortunes with the last release, Milestone have again looked to develop and improve upon what was an already very solid base for this new game, providing what appears to be yet more content and improved playability as they look to bring more depth to the series with MotoGP 19.

According to the details than can be found within the announcement trailer above, it appears as if the new for this season MotoE series will be represented in the new title, as will the inclusion of a legends gameplay feature that recreates some of the historic rivalries that have taken place over the years within the category.. so expect some Biaggi vs Rossi action when the game comes out later this year.

For now information is a little thin on the ground as to exactly what has changed with the upcoming release, however stay tuned to RaceDepartment in the coming weeks and months as we bring you the latest news as and when it becomes available.

MotoGP Key Features:

Neural AI

Remember when you were the king of the race? Old times: thanks to the Neural AI and to the Machine Learning, you’ll now face smarter, faster opponents who will exploit your mistakes. The challenge is about to get real.

Historical Challenges
Living the MotoGP™ competition is great but having the chance to relive the greatest moments of the past is something you’d rarely experience. Ride as some of the greatest riders of the past in their most iconic moments as professional racers.

Single Player and Multiplayer
A career mode that will let you pick your category of choice. Start from the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup and climb your way up to the most prestigious teams, or simply jump-start your career as a MotoGP™ rider and grab the podium’s highest step. Or just dive into one of the many Single Player modes. If you like challenges, though, step into one of the many Multiplayer modes and test yourself against players around the world.

MotoGP 19 will release June 6th for PS4, Xbox One and PC / Steam. The Nintendo Switch version will arrive a few weeks later.

Being italian and knowing way too well how Milestone works(and used to work for years) I don't expect anything more than the nth reskin of the same game with the same exact feeling, the same issues and so on.

They have a lot of stuff to polish before even thinking about implementing stuff like this type of AI to have better competition against the CPU. There's sims with awesome AI without implementing machine learning.

Don't want to sound too negative and I really really hope to be totally wrong, but that honestly sounds like yet another gimmick from Milestone to keep people excited about the new game without actually putting some effort on the areas that count and could make the game something to be remembered.

I'm still waiting for a great MotoGP game(and maybe someone that gets back into making SBK ones, hopefully not Milestone since they literally copy-pasted their games every year even with menus and videos before dropping them) but I'm pretty sure this will be just another "What if..." from them.

Oh :( and i was too excited for this, by the way the yamaha of rossi on the trailer looks like the MotoGP17 one a little bit i think, if you look it really close on the fairing :/

I know but as I said I've been following Milestone closely for way too much to still believe they can deliver properly. Even had some of the guys from the studio reply on a famous italian forum when they made Ride one, only to disappear when we started asking for huge issues fixes like day one when you couldn't save the game and had to restart over every single time you opened it...took them two weeks to fix.

If you go and check the reviews for they recent games you can see they're mostly "Mixed" on Steam: MotoGP, MXGP, SBK, RIDE, every single game.

And that only tells a portion of the story, there's much more wrong stuff behind the scenes(like their chief moving the entire team from developing a game to the other back and forth) but I don't want to discourage anyone too much.

Don't know if something changed recently but at Milestone they had great artists(3D ones, programmers and so forth) but the CEO was a bit entitled and over himself.

But then again, I really hope it's finally the year where I'm wrong :)

The AI is done in collaboration with another company, so It may turn out good.

Machine learning AI is not a gimmick. Check Dota 2 videos of Open AI bots. This is the future.

I know Dota 2 Open AI bots, I'm a Dota player myself :)

I also wasn't implying all AI is gimmicky, my point was different: I stated that this looks like an implementation of something Milestone does to keep people hyped, while also avoiding to focus on the issues that have been plaguing their games for ages.

I'm all for good AI to race against, but there's a lot more stuff they should focus on before even thinking about it - even if it's another company taking care of it - but I'm happy it'll finally be, hopefully, better expecially considering the AI has always been one of these bad things in their games I mentioned them ignoring for a while now.
