Milestone Games have confirmed the next MotoGP title will release on the 7th June - promising a "complete reboot of the series".

Utilising the increasingly popular and somewhat spectacular Unreal 4 engine, MotoGP 18 is set to become the most ambitious and impressive official MotoGP racing game to date when it launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year.

Using the powerful Unreal Engine 4 for the very first time, MotoGP 18 will also benefit from laserscanned circuits and looks set to be "re-designed and rebuilt up from the very basics", marking a very serious statement of intent from the development team behind this long running officially licenced franchise of bike racing games.

According to Lead Designer, Matteo Pezzotti, the upcoming new title has received plenty of love and attention over the last few months as Milestone look to break new ground with MotoGP 18:

“It will simply be the greatest and purest MotoGP™ experience for all the fans. This title marks the arrival of the series on the Unreal Engine, a leap forward in terms of technological innovation, ensuring enhancements in the visual quality, realistic and impressive lighting effects and completely reworked physics: the game faithfully reproduces all the distinctive behavior of the bikes, thereby reducing the gap between fiction and reality, while making it accessible also to casual gamers through the introduction of interactive riding aids and tutorials. More details about the technological features will be unveiled soon, but with all these new advancements our goal is to offer our fans the most realistic and immersive MotoGP™ experience.”
Initially releasing on PC, Xbox and PlayStation this June 7th, MotoGP 18 will also arrive on the Nintendo Switch platform at a as yet unspecified date later in the year, making the most of the flexibility of the Unreal 4 engine and cross platform development experience acquired during the design and build phase of the recent Supercross: The Game title.

are you sure about graphics are ok? alls the screenshots on official site are 50 per cent fake and they also written "actual in game work in progress" are they kidding?? the bikes 3D models are of motogp 2017 i'm sure of that also the riders, maybe the tracks? and how is the referred opinion? the level of detail?, so you are sure that this kind of developers are enough experienced to do a better level of phisics for the new game? mmmmmhh
i'm would be more believer if you and biker would be in the developer team cause only in that case the game probably became more interesting, why? cause the passion that have you and biker is mutch more of the entire milestone developer team. the game is about one and half month to release date and we have see only some kind of sceenshot and a trailer of real motogp scenes mostly so it's the same media way to do every year, and every year we survive the game after release with the modders passion
Those screenshots are outdated. If you look at the screenshot of Rossi with the 3018 helmet the lighting and the track looks fine.

The bikes will be updated to 2018 before release, do not get fooled by the outdated screenshots. I've tried Supercross and it looks very good

Milestone posted a 360° pic on Facebook (go check it!).

The white line is not attached to the kerb (in real life they paint the tarmac in between with the colours of the kerb to hide it). Also the off-track texture is updated to 2017, but it looks low quality, I think they're still working on it. The textures could be better, but it can be fixed. The lighting is quite nice.

The helmet still lacks the yellow tear-off(s) on the sides, but at least we can add them this year oursevles!
I'm not even sure they scanned the helmet, I'm afraid it's the same since GP15. Let's hope I'm wrong.

The bike looks awesome, the t-cam on the fairing (in the middle of 46) has been included.

Yeah but the leeeean angle. It needs to be lower. Every game we understeer to narnia and it's awful. Also Rossi's body leans as much as i lean with my bicycle! It needs to go LOWER! Go ride 2017 rossi, it's boring, every rider needs to look more ANIMATED on the bike, like when they slide they go ouuuut and they give more power it's insane.

I agree but there's no way to know how much the player was leaning. He doesn't even seem to be on the right racing line so maybe they just leaned a bit to make a picture and that's it. Let's wait for some gameplay!

Just hoping for new character models, from the promo pics of rossi in his testing helmet and seeing the boots on Dovi's screenshot looks like it's the same player models they've been using since milestone made their first motoGP title. Excited to hear it might be more moddable incase this is true not using new player models.

All of this looks promising... hoping to not get wrongly lead by these folks again...
I was a bit worried about the drone scanning, cause drone scanning is pretty good but not precise. Laser scanning on the other hand has an error of 2mm, so it's very precise.

It looks like they used both drone scanning for the overall proportions and heights of the track, and laser scan for the smaller things like kerbs and pit. Finally we'll have some very nice tracks!

About the riders, I was kinda expecting them to look better. Something is off, maybe the texture? Cause the model is scanned...But anyway, I'm glad we can complain about things like this. About damn time lol

P.S. Give us a gameplay.
Marquez seems to have the same riding style, but this is an old beta cause the bikes are still the old ones. I think they'll use the old suits and helmets, unfortunately

ok yonix that is a little better things to see
tracks are real more detailed it's now first step to something simil real, the riders it's first time scanned and the quality seems to be far away better than before,(that's too easy to do better than before ahahah), and yes now i understand why the old models,it's to be evidence how are more detailed the old bike models with the new engine (it's only my thought)

I'm still waiting for it to be realistic in the immersion department.
Outlap, pit-in, swap bikes, warm up lap, manual start..
Then I'd like an AI that behave realistically, lap times that drop at the end of the session, riders with different tyre choice, pit boards, marshalls, realistic damage, injuries, red flags...

I would love to be like MGP14 at least... You getting to the bike, they starting the engine and you going out the pits...

They could add an animation when you enter in the pits and someone holds the bike, you getting off the bike and going to the seat... then the camera fades and starts to show you from outside like the cameras in an official transmission, while you're configuring things in the bike... Showing the LIFE on the pits with engineers runnning around carrying parts or new tires... Of course everything with a strategic "skip" button for those who prefers to not watch cinematics...

They have the chance to do something big, but after 5 years without doing that before, I don't have much hope. Waiting gameplay footage!

As much as I agree with all the ideas and suggestions, they've had a lot of work to do this past year. I don't think anything you've said will be in 18. Maybe in the future, fingers crossed.

We'll get new cinematics for sure, maybe even a podium cutscene. I hope we get flag to flag and a more alive AI this year.

The kerbs are finally big like in real life Unfortunately the tarmac colour is awful, it's not that dark in real life! It seems the same texture used in the past

thanks for picture jonix , kerbs and tarmac i have just noticed in last video that' s are of last year skin, but now i'm sure that also the bike models are the same with the update of new wings on it i have noticed that the honda uv maps are exaclty the same, cause that's the same painting error on the protection of right handlebar painted in orange ahahahah

I don't think the models are the same. Maybe they recycled that part.
The only models the are recycled from the past versions are helmets and suits (and maybe the tyres).

EDIT: Compraing the tarmac with onboard footage from 2013 I can say that the texture is new and very close to real life. It's just a bit too dark, but again we can fix that (add it to the list ).
