How well does GTR2 function when installing mods on an install of GTR2 Anniversary patch. I'd like to know because I'd love to install some mods like the prototype mods from grid and some touring cars.
Personally speaking I think there is a place for HQ in any GTR2/PnG/GTL folder
There are many aspects will work no matter the content.
I use GME mods to install non GTR2 2003/2004 content but still use individual parts of HQ.
Car mods used in GME mods makes activation/deactivation 1 click and foolproof backups.
Having said that I agree with Kenny 100%.
First you want backups of vanilla GTR2 /GTL /rFactor that have nothing added.
Second another copy of these has been tweaked to use as a base for any new folder.
Third another copy of GTR2 and GTL with Base HQ's ( GTR233's picks ) nothing else.
Then it's just a matter of experimenting, drag and drop a #2 or #3 copy and test any mods you like in it.
Don't work well delete it and just start again, copy a base folder on budget SSD takes like 10 seconds .
For me is nothing more then clicks just took years and years to get there.
Great thing about GME they give you real time insight into overwrites rather then you get sick
of them and click copy all. Is good example that folder does not work it goes in the bin.
rFactor and Automobilista same Steam or not.
Another I think handy hint if you use all old gmotor and multi files and like me do regular fresh OSes
You well know you lose all exe strings that you set for GTR2 GTL PnG and rF
AppCompatibilityView solves this
View / modify compatibility settings of Windows applications stored in AppCompatFlags Registry key
www.nirsoft.net
1. Download that and run it
2. Drag every single GTR2/GTL/PnG/rFactor exe and config.exe into the window
I typically do install folders for GME mods that contain exes one at a time.
exe first then config.
3. Then highlight the lot and just select the 3 columns I show you here in screenshot.
You will never have a issue booting any of these again and they will all work 100% in any windowed mode
Just make sure to select 32Bit for all when you config.
Happy Sailing
