Sector3 Studios have today revealed their second Scandinavian circuit due to be added to the RaceRoom Racing Experience title, announcing news that Mantorp Park will be joining Gelleråsen as new additions to the simulation.

As with the previously announced Gelleråsen circuit, Mantorp Park is a typical Swedish location that plays host to the STCC series amongst other popular national level racing events. Sim racers will know the track from Simbin Studios STCC and STCC 2 game releases back in 2011 will no doubt be excited to see yet another wonderful Swedish track added to RaceRoom.

For those of you not familiar with this little gem, have a look at the on-board footage from Flash Engineering drivers Jan "Flash" Nilsson and Colin Turkington during the controversial Scandinavian Touring Car Championship finale of 2011 at Mantorp Park.

Of course Sector3 have not revealed an expected release date for either circuit yet, however judging by the impressive screens it does looks as if both tracks are very near a finished state of development. As was with the original Gelleråsen reveal, Sector3 have confirmed yet more track announcements will be forthcoming in the near future, and I am pretty sure I speak for a majority of fans when I say we hope to see more of these Scandinavian beauties joining the game throughout the year (and STCC cars too please...).

That just looks lovely, beautiful work as always :)

When they released the Nords I literally just drove around in 1st and 2nd gear for a while because the levels of detail were amazing. Could've sworn I saw a guy cooking on a BBQ!

Reminds me a little of AMS with their Brazilian tracks, which are great fun to drive also. It's always great to have the well known circuits but the lesser known ones are always welcome in my book as well. Especially when they look this nice! :)

2017 is going to be a good year for this sim. Hopefully they'll make it slightly more stable in multiplayer as well. I would love to do more league style events in Raceroom but it seems the various racing groups prefer the slightly more stable nature of AMS, AC or RF2....well I say stable...;)

I did do a GT3 league though last year and that ran pretty much perfect.

"top-notch"?? its progressed a lot in the past 2-3 years, but its easily the most rudimentary physics system in simracing. theres still a lot of work to be done in fleshing the game out before i think it can really be grouped in with AMS/iR/good rF2/AC.

Well that's it my friend. Yes I agree with you up to a point but I think when the game was originally released it was marketed as a sim-cade title (in the vein of Gran Turismo I guess). Then over time it's become more sim based. The physics engine they designed for this title is never going to be as complex as RF2 but in my view that's a good thing because it's one of the sims that you can jump into and enjoy a good race. Then if you want to play with setup you can. I just find it more fun than some of the others I guess.

RF2 is a great title but I don't have time to try out a hundred different setup options and run 100's of laps to make sure i'm quick.

Raceroom deserves it's place on my hard drive though and I enjoy it just as much (if not more) than some of the others.

....but yes it would be nice to have tyre pressure management ;)
