Logitech PRO wheel. Logitech enters the Direct Drive market.

Perhaps they will have something like the podium mount that will allow freedom is selecting wheels. Did the announce anything like that?
The wheel has a very excellent quick release and yes other rims will be coming. They are also going to release their own cockpit and more accessories aka shifter

Perfect example when the whole is better than individual parts, if all this stuff is priced competitively of course.
Like the simplistic but functional rig design.

It already is DD Pro 8nm $600 US CSL Elite V2 $300 V3's $400 Mclaren V2 $200 Metal metal quick release. $100. plus shipping here in the US The Logitech G Pro wheel base and pedals are $1262 with free shipping

11 NM is good, amazed that they believe a desk clamp is adequate. Lack of interchangeable wheels is weak. Plastic pedals don't make the cut at all. Overall, I could see myself getting the wheel, but not the pedals.

Update:
Watched random callsign's Youtube review and discovered that it's limited to 1080 degrees of rotation, so leaves a sour taste.

The wheel has a quick release One would assume more wheels are on the way

Pretty sure they are just testing water if they can charge that much, time will make its adjustments. And again, Logitech is a big player everyone knows, but so is TM, now TM is in peculiar position, either their wheelbase must be of a better build quality or higher torque, or they need to cut the price below what Logitech is trying to charge. May be offer better price on bundles.
Anyway, exciting times, wake up call for GD folks.
It's not plastic where it matters

Plastic is plastic, let's not try glorify it, solid metal construction is always better esp. in high torque applications.

I do think they should have had other wheels available for launch, too many unknowns to punt for one just yet. I am tempted with the logitech G tho just for ps5 support. The Fanatec QR plus stock issues has scared me off their DD plus I begrudge paying 149 quid just for a 3nm boost (absolute joke of a price tbh). Lets see what Thrustmaster offers then I can make a full decision.... nice to have options tho :)

I'd prefer to wait until Barry from SRG gets his hands on one and do a teardown.
If the structural components holding the actual motor shaft and coil itself is all metal, I don't see a problem if it has one extra plastic shroud over it. If it isn't then I guess this wheel is just ****.

I'd recommend to definitely wait for them to become widely available. I doubt Logitech will have stock issues. They're probably testing waters now to get ready for Christmas season.

I think they should definitely bring a formula/GT style wheel soon but this D-shape wheel seems to have everything you'd want.

30cm metal rim
Leather
12 buttons
1 joystick
2 rotaries
Magnetic shifters
Dual clutch paddles

It's basically a Fanatec R300 V2 plus 2 rotaries and dual clutch paddles.

About the csl dd power supply:
Probably often heard already but the 8Nm with the boost kit was probably the price that was needed to make it profitable and the 5Nm variant is to get people into the eco system while not making any profit.

The alternative would've been to keep the csl elite wheelbase and offer the 8Nm csl dd for 30 bucks less.
But since the csl elite base had some issues with the encoder getting dirty and torque fading when using for a few hours non-stop at full torque, they decided to offer these 2 csl dd variants.

I totally agree though. Spending 150€ on a power supply still feels really bad and stupid...

Yep!
I'm really curious about looking at that wheelbase' inside. Might be "ugly" but all metal and then making it pretty with plastic or it's plastic everywhere and cheap.
I can totally imagine both possibilities!

I'm actually set to buy this if the internals are solid metal for the parts that matter. Having owned 2 Logitechs and a turdmaster t300, I really prefer the good old logitech reliability. But it has to be metal inside, otherwise I'm buying a Simagic Alpha Mini instead.

I had a DD plastic quick release on the Mclaren V2 start slipping in a week. Never overtightened and not a lot of force. The G Pro quick release is eons better than anything Fanatec offers .

That Plastik QR on the VR has a different issue. In a phone call the tech support told me that all Plastik QRs would have the same issue:

It's not actually "clamping"! It's slightly holding inside the moulds for the metal QR balls but mainly the rotational slip is blocked by the plastic strips at the top.
Normally they should be a bit too wide and push against the edges of the slot but instead there's a gap and there's some rotational play.

You can do 2 things about this:
1. Fold some paper (I'm using 3 layers of 80g DIN A4 printing paper).
Put it around the strips strips/into the slot with a few cm sticking out to hold it with your hands.
Then carefully slide the wheel onto the shaft while keeping the paper in position.
When it feels better, cut off the sticking out paper.
This basically makes the strips a bit thicker/wider while also damping the rotational slip.
I can't feel it anymore.

2. You can take out the end stop for the tightening screw and simply screw it further until it's tight.
This clamps down the balls into the moulds and it seems to work.
There are videos out there but I didn't try that since it voids the warranty and I didn't see a way to get the end stop out and back in without clear signs of it, might the support take a look...

nice one, wont be till after christmas but we have a graduate at home still so qualifies for 25% in UK (upto 5 years post grad)
Yeah I'm qualifying for that too.
If my fanatec might give up at some point, I know what I'll take a vvveeerrryy sweet look at!

Let's hope it will prove to be a good one over the next months!

It really hits the gap between fanatec's csl dd and DD1 while combining my favorite specs of steering wheels too!

I really love my csw 2.5 + mclaren v2 but I'd like to have a D shape rim and a metal rim without the flex, cracking and rattling of the mclaren.
And better shifters... The v2 are okay but still no comparison to "standard" magnetic paddles where the paddle leans against a magnet and pulls away from it.

But I'm still way too satisfied to spend that much money for a slight improvement...
