The Blancpain GT Series returns for the fifth round of the series at the legendary Zolder circuit in Belgium. Check out the live stream from the event here at RaceDepartment!

The title chase hots up in the fifth round of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series heads to the former home of the Belgium Grand Prix at the fast and furious Zolder circuit.

With an impressive array of exotic supercar talent due to pack into the historic Zolder paddock over the weekend of 2nd – 4th June, it will once again be a test of nerve, endurance and outright speed to see who can cross the finish line in first position once the chequered flag drops on Sunday afternoon.

Championship leaders Mirko Bortolotti and Christian Engelhart retain a slender advantage at the head of the table in their GRT Grasser Racing Team run Lamborghini Huracan GT3, just 14 points ahead of nearest rivals Maxi Buhk and Franck Perera of the Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport squad.

Following a closely fought battle last time out at Silverstone both Bortolotti and Engelhart will be keen to sure up their championship charge with just five races remaining until the championship reaches its conclusion at Barcelona in October.

Further down the grid it looks like another close battle is set to take place between the midfield runners, with incredibly close practice times seeing just one second cover the top 26 drivers in the field. The tight nature of the field will place a premium on a good grid position for the Sunday feature race, as passing around the high speed Zolder circuit has historically proven to be not without risk.

Catch all the action from qualification and the main race via RaceDepartment beginning Saturday 3rd June at 08:10 for qualifying and Sunday 4th June for the main 3 hour endurance sprint.

Watched it live in october 2014, pretty impressive...not much room for errors...
